Vellerimala is a beautiful mountain range located in the Western Ghats of Kerala. Trekking at Vellarimala is considered one of the hardest treks in Kerala. The steep trek of about 10 km through dense evergreen forests, bamboo groves, and grasslands is a dream for every adventure lover.
The region with a diverse topography provides ample opportunities to explore beautiful waterfalls like Olichuchattam Waterfall and Marippuzha Waterfall. You can also visit the widely popular Thusharagiri Waterfall, just 30 km from Vellarimala.
Vellarimala's rich biodiversity provides the perfect habitat for animals like Elephants, leopards, Malabar giant squirrels, and rare birds. You can spot them while enjoying the trek or observe them from afar at the base camp.
Vellarimala offers many things to do, like trekking, rock climbing, and bird watching. The best time to visit Vellari Mala is between October and March, when the monsoon has subsided, leaving nature in full bloom. It is also the winter season in Kerala, which is very pleasant with less humidity.
