HAMILTON NEW ZEALAND TEMPLE

In the southern hemisphere, Hamilton New Zealand Temple is the first temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dedicated by the church’s president, David O. McKay, it asserts an overall membership of in excess of 13 million, almost 50% of them in the US.

The main Mormon preachers showed up in New Zealand during the 1880s and appreciated some achievement in the Māori people group. In 2013, there were a little more than 40,000 Mormons in New Zealand.
