What Makes the Philippines Package Prices Go Up or Down

The cost of a Philippines package from India fluctuates much more dramatically than other Southeast Asian destinations. Because the country is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, prices are driven heavily by logistics, seasons, and local regulations rather than just hotel star ratings.

  • Multi-island itineraries raise costs considerably due to added flights and transfers, while a "City + Single Island" approach keeps expenses more manageable. Reducing the number of transitions cuts transit fees and frees up more time for actual exploration, making better use of your travel budget.
  • The peak dry season (November–April) pushes flight and beachfront hotel rates up by 40% to 60%. The typhoon-prone low season (July–October), by contrast, brings significant airline promotions and reduced hotel prices. Travelling during the shoulder months of May and October strikes the best balance between cost savings and favourable weather.
  • Flying into regional island airports or booking multi-city routes inflates costs due to limited airline competition. Booking round-trip tickets into major hubs like Manila or Cebu, on the other hand, secures significantly lower rates driven by higher flight volumes and competing carriers.
  • Direct beachfront positioning significantly inflates room rates, commanding steep location premiums even for basic hotels. Choosing accommodation just 5 to 10 minutes inland or on the mainland, however, gets you larger rooms and better amenities for a fraction of the price.

Best Time to Visit the Philippines

Dry Season (November to February)

Weather: Days are sunny and pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 30 °C. Rainfall is minimal, which makes these months the peak period for a Philippines tour from India.

What to Do: Explore beaches like Boracay’s White Beach and Palawan’s El Nido. Try water sports like snorkelling and scuba diving. Go sightseeing around Manila, attend the Sinulog Festival in Cebu, and experience Christmas and Easter festivities.

Warm Season (March to May)

Weather: These months are slightly warmer and more humid, with temperatures ranging between 21°C and 28°C. While the weather remains clear, this period sees fewer visitors, making it great for budget travellers.

What to Do: It’s the perfect time for beach exploration, island hopping, trekking, and water sports like snorkelling and surfing around Cebu and other spots.

Rainy Season (June to October)

Weather: This is the typhoon season in the Philippines, which means high rainfall, higher humidity, and a very high risk of typhoons in most parts. Rainfall is a daily occurrence, but it's heavy and short-lived, not an all-day affair. Weather and typhoon updates in the Philippines are officially monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric,

How to Reach the Philippines from India

The easiest way to travel for your Philippines trip package from India is to take a direct flight between the major international airports.

Direct Flights

Direct flights are operated by Air India between New Delhi (IGI Airport) and Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport). The journey takes around 7 hours, with regular flights through the week.

Connecting Flights

Major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Goa, Ahmedabad, and Amritsar have connecting flights to the Philippines. Manila and Cebu (Mactan Cebu International Airport) are the two major airports in the Philippines with maximum connectivity to India. Popular airlines on the route are Air India, Indigo, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Emirates, and AirAsia. These flights have stopovers in major cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok and fly regularly.

Between the two Filipino airports, Manila is great for first-time visitors if you plan to explore cities first. If you plan on exploring primarily islands, Cebu is a better option.

Philippines Visa for Indian Travellers

Indian citizens can enter the Philippines visa-free for a period of 14 days, as verified by the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi. This policy lets you travel to the Philippines as a tourist without applying for a visa. All you need is a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months, a confirmed place of stay, proof of financial capacity, and return flight tickets. If you have valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singaporean or United Kingdom (AJACSSUK) visas or residence permits, you can travel visa-free for 30 days.

You will need to show your documents at the time of entering the country. If you stay for more than 14 days, you will need to apply for a visa at the Philippine embassy in India. Single-entry visas cost INR 3,840, are valid for 3 months, and are processed in 7 to 12 working days. Multiple-entry visas cost around INR 7,680 to INR 11,520, are valid for 6 months to 1 year, and take 15 to 21 working days.

Best Places to Cover on a Philippines tour

1. Manila: Most Philippine tours begin in Manila, as it is the main city that has the country’s most connected international airport. It is known for its Spanish-era heritage in Intramuros, modern business hubs like Makati and Bonifacio Global City, and a lively nightlife scene ranging from rooftop bars to live music venues that showcase the country’s contemporary urban culture. Here you can go sightseeing at landmarks like Fort Santiago and San Augustin Church in the walled city of Intramuros. You can also enjoy a sunset cruise along Manila Bay before starting your island adventure.

2. Cebu: The one destination most paired with Manila is Cebu, which is the central hub for island hopping in the Philippines. Don’t miss visiting heritage attractions like Basilica del Santo Niño, Magellan’s Cross, and Fort San Pedro. As for adventures, try canyoneering at Kawasan Falls, snorkelling with sardines at Moalboal and whale sharks at Oslob, and hiking at Osmena Peak.

3. Puerto Princesa: Palawan’s Puerto Princesa and El Nido are the heart of longer, adventure-filled Philippines itinerary plans from Manila or Cebu. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Puerto Princesa Underground River and go island hopping around Honda Bay. In El Nido, you can go snorkelling and kayaking and explore limestone cliffs and hidden lagoons on a day trip.

4. Boracay: Boracay is where all your tropical adventure dreams can come true once you fly in from Manila or Cebu. It is best known for its White Beach, where you can relax on powdery white sand. Apart from that, you can go parasailing, helmet diving and windsurfing at Bulabog Beach. Enjoy watching the sunset from a traditional Paraw Boat, go island hopping to Puka Shell Beach, and experience vibrant nightlife here.

5. Bohol: Bohol fits perfectly as a day trip from Cebu, adding diversity to your itinerary. It is iconic for its Chocolate Hills, which are hundreds of symmetrical, cone-shaped limestone hills. See rare tarsiers at the Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area, enjoy a cruise on the Laboc River, and visit the historic Baclayon Church for a laidback day.

Top Experiences to Include in Philippines Tours

Here are some of the best things to do in the Philippines:

  • Explore the underwater world at Cebu: Take a deep dive into the rich marine ecosystems around Cebu, Boracay, and Bohol. As you go snorkelling, scuba diving, or on guided marine tours, you can see coral reefs, sardines, whale sharks, sea turtles, and other tropical fish here.
  • Go island hopping at Cebu and Palawan: Set out on island-hopping adventures around Cebu and Palawan with Thrillophilia’s Philippines tour itinerary. Watch limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and vibrant marine life across El Nido, Cebu, and Siargao. You can also go kayaking, snorkelling with sea turtles, diving shipwrecks, and relaxing on beaches between different island stops.
  • Try water sports at Boracay and Siargao: The Philippines is a hub of a wide range of water sports. Siargao is known as the country’s surfing capital, while Boracay has kiteboarding, windsurfing, flyboarding, and jet skiing. Apart from scuba diving and snorkelling, you can also try wakeboarding, river rafting, canyoneering, kayaking, and lagoon tours across the islands.
  • See unique natural wonders at Palawan and Bohol: The Philippines is full of unique attractions, be it the Chocolate Hills of Bohol or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Puerto Princesa Underground River. You can also explore the lagoon within Bohol’s Hinagdanan Cave, watch fireflies on a night boat tour, and go cliff jumping at Cebu’s Kawasan Falls.
  • Visit the rice terraces at Luzon: Beyond the beach magic of the Philippines lies its 2000-year-old, UNESCO-listed rice terraces in Luzon, easily accessible from Manila. The five terraces of Batad, Bangaan, Mayoyao, Hungduan, and Nagacadan show an ancient farming practice that you can reach with guided hiking tours. What makes these even more special is that they are considered the world’s highest, most extensive, and best-built rice terraces.
  • Go for cultural tours around Manila: As you begin your journey in Manila before heading to island destinations, a cultural tour is a great way to experience the heart of the Philippines. Go on guided heritage walks around Intramuros and visit colonial-era landmarks like Fort Santiago. You can also go for food walks and discover the flavours of Filipino cuisine. Wrap up the tour with a sunset cruise on Manila Bay.

Food and Practical Tips for Indian Travellers in the Philippines

  • Filipino cuisine uses meat in most recipes, so if you are a vegetarian, remember to be very specific about ‘no meat or fish’ while ordering food.
  • Don’t miss out on trying authentic local delicacies like adobo, sinigang, and halo halo.
  • If you prefer spicy food, you can carry small spice packets to add to food, as Filipino food is not very spicy.
  • For those who prefer to eat Indian food while travelling, you will find more restaurants in Manila and Cebu than on smaller islands.
  • It’s best to drink bottled water during your Philippines tour, even on the islands.
  • You can use cards for payments in the cities, but it’s best to have cash on hand.
  • ATMs are easier to find in cities, but they are rare on the islands, so make withdrawals beforehand.
  • Island transfer days need simpler packing and planning as compared to city travel days.

Travel Updates and Safety Information for the Philippines

  • Indian nationals can travel visa-free to the Philippines as tourists for a period of up to 14 days. For longer stays, you may need to apply for a visa.
  • July to October are the rainy and typhoon season months, which means higher flight cancellations, turbulent seas, and daily rainfall. You can either avoid visiting during this period or choose destinations like Palawan or Southern Visayas, which are less affected.
  • It is best to avoid visiting the Sulu Archipelago, the southern Sulu Sea, and Mindanao’s Marawi City, as they are high-risk areas.
  • Keep your valuables and travel documents safe to avoid pickpocketing incidents, which can happen even in popular places like Manila.
  • The weather can be unpredictable in the Philippines, so keep a check on the updates as well as ferry and flight schedules.
  • Avoid travelling alone in dark, secluded areas and follow basic safety measures for a good time in the Philippines.

The Philippines truly deserves far more recognition than it gets. A special thanks to Ravi from the Thrillophilia sales team for explaining in detail how beautiful the destination is - otherwise, we might have chosen somewhere else. After visiting, I can confidently say it was an incredible experience, and I would have definitely regretted not going there.

El Nido is genuinely the most beautiful place I have been to. I say this having done Maldives, Bali, Langkawi. The lagoon colours in Palawan are different from all of those. What Thrillophilia added that I would not have figured out on my own was the island sequence, which tours to do in which order depending on crowd patterns and tide timings. Boracay was a good contrast at the end, more social, good for the last two evenings. One transfer from Cebu was tight on timing but we made it.

El Nido, Palawan, hands down the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The big lagoon, small lagoon, secret beach, each island hopping stop was a different shade of paradise. Thrillophilia's local coordinator in El Nido was superb, knew exactly which spots to visit at which time of day to avoid crowds. Visited from Pune, absolutely worth the long journey.
