Sheffield Botanical Gardens Overview

Pay a visit to the early 19th century Sheffield Botanical Gardens, ranked as one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sheffield. Spread across 19 acres of verdant greenery, get a chance to witness over 5500 species of plants and trees in this Grade II site of special historic and architectural interest.

Ranked as one of the most popular and beautiful tourist attractions in Sheffield, the Sheffield Botanical Gardens, designed in the Gardenesque Style by Robert Marnock, dates back to the year 1876. Home to more than 18 differently themed garden areas from around the world, including the Evolution Garden, Himalayan Garden, Mediterranean Garden and more, it is here where you can see and learn about more than 5500 species of rare and exotic flora.

Looking almost the very same as it did when it was constructed, the Sheffield Botanical Gardens also boast of a stone bear pit, the main lawn as well as a rose garden. The vast spaces here are all lined very symmetrically, thereby increasing its aesthetic value and beauty. The northeast sections of the garden also have secluded spots, where you can enjoy a fun-filled picnic with your friends and family on a clear day out in the city.
