Know Before You Go

  • The helicopter flights operate under Non-Scheduled Operator Permits (NSOP), meaning that flight timings are tentative and can change based on various factors.
  • Flight schedules are heavily influenced by weather conditions and necessary permissions. It's advisable to remain flexible, as delays or cancellations may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Each helicopter has a total passenger weight limit of 445 kg, accommodating up to six individuals. Accurate body weight information is crucial; discrepancies can lead to additional charges or denial of boarding without a refund.
  • Passengers exceeding 75 kg will incur an extra fee of INR 2,500 per kg. If the declared weight is inaccurate, the charge increases to INR 3,000 per kg, payable before departure.
  • Only one small soft bag per passenger, weighing a maximum of 3 kg, is permitted. Hard-case luggage is not allowed. A duffel bag will be provided upon arrival for your convenience.
  • Accommodations are arranged on a double or triple sharing basis. For single occupancy, an additional fee of INR 30,000 per person applies. Due to weight limitations, larger groups may be split across different helicopters and hotels.
  • The order of visiting the Dhams may change due to weather conditions, technical issues, or governmental permissions. Be prepared for adjustments in your travel plan.
  • A single vehicle will be provided for groups of up to six passengers throughout the tour. Transfers are included only on the arrival and departure days. Additional charges apply for transfers to locations like Haridwar or Rishikesh.
  • Infants under two years of age can travel free of charge, provided a valid ID or birth certificate is presented.
  • Factors such as delayed air traffic clearances, VVIP movements, or technical issues can cause delays. It's strongly recommended to allocate an extra day beyond the planned itinerary.
  • Carrying a valid Aadhar Card for Indian nationals or a Passport for foreign nationals is mandatory for all passengers.
  • Networks such as Airtel, JIO, and BSNL are generally available at all locations, including Yamunotri, Harsil, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

When Chardham Yatra starts & ends?

The Chardham Yatra Begins around Akshay Tritiya (Also known as Akha Teej) which comes around the month of April or May. Also, this is the time when all the dhams can be reached without any hassle due to the weather conditions. The Yatra comes to an end around Diwali, which is celebrated around October to November. Once the festival is celebrated throughout the country, these temples close their doors for next five to six months.

How long do the Char Dham Yatra take?

Any Chardham Yatra can take from five days to fifteen days to get fully complete. The duration of the Yatra wholly depends on the type of travel you are choosing. In general, a yatra by foot in which you go trekking towards the Dhams can take anywhere from 10 to 15 days. However, If you opt for a Chardham helicopter package, the same tour will get completed within 5 days.

What to bring for Chardham Yatra Darshan?

- Heavy woollen cloths such as warm Jacket, Coat, Sweater, Gloves & woollen socks and good walking shoes with grip.
- Slippers & sandals.
- First aid kit.
- Carry Insect repellent or lotions to avoid any mosquito infection.
- Carry rain coats as sometimes it can rain in this circuit due to the unpredictable weather conditions which can change at any time here.
- Bring personal medicines during your trip to Char Dham Circuit if you are patient of any such or have any kind of allergies.
- Carry a letter from your physician during your trip.

What is the best time to Visit Badrinath Temple?

The months of September and October are considered to be the peak season when one can visit the Badrinath Temple. Around this time, the weather conditions are comparatively cool and one can easily take part in aartis and prayer sessions.

When does it snow in Kedarnath?

Winters in Kedarnath begin around early November and continue till April. Around this time, this abode receives huge snowfall, which further results in the temple being closed for the time period.

How is the road condition of the Char-Dham Route?

The road conditions of all the four places included in the Char-Dham route are comparatively fair and anyone can easily cover them. However, at many points, the roads might become slant, resulting in making the asc3nd difficult. Apart from this, to ease the comfort of pilgrims, a Chardham Expressway National Highway is being made which is expected to be completely built by 2022.

Which places will be covered as part of the Char Dham Yatra?

Yamunotri: The very first stop of this Chardham yatra by helicopter, Yamunotri is the source of River Yamuna. This is the place from where the gushing stream of this river originates and through Garhwal Himalayas. Sitting at a height of 3291 metres, this temple is dedicated to hindu goddess Yamuna and houses a black coloured idol of the same.

Gangotri: Sitting on the great Hinalayan Range is the quaint little town of Gangotri which has been a prominent pilgrimage destination among Hindus. This is the place from where river Ganga originates and gushes parallel to river Baghirathi. A beautiful white coloured temple has been made here for the visitors to indulge in prayers.

Kedarnath: Having the majestic himalayan peaks as its backdrop, Kedarnath is one of the holiest locations covered in any Chardham tour package by helicopter. Due to its location, the temple experiences harsh weather conditions, leading to it being opened just from April to October.

Badrinath: Situated in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, this temple is the last destination of any Chardham yatra tour package by helicopter. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this temple makes sure that it remains loaded with visitors, thus lets them enjoy the sight of Abhishek and Shringaar procedures.
