Know Before You Go
- Greece is not organised very well for a disabled person. Many towns and villages are perched on top of hills, with steep streets and stairs that are very difficult to traverse for anyone with difficulties, and impossible on a wheelchair.
- Credit cards are normally accepted in all stores and restaurants in Greece. But always have cash with you, just in case.
- Water is usually drinkable in most cities of the Greek mainland, but in the islands, you must drink bottled water.
- A good pair of breathable sneakers will get you through the Greek cobblestone roads without any trouble and, a good pair of sandals can easily double for beach wear. Kindly avoid heels and flip-flops.
- While visiting the religious sites in Greece such as the churches, you will be expected to dress modestly, with clothes that cover the chest, shoulders and knees.
- You will need to cover your head while visiting a mosque in Turkey. Hence, it is recommended that you carry a scarf or a shawl at all times.
- The Turkish Lira (TRY) is the currency you’ll be using in Turkey. It’s always handy to have some cash, especially when visiting smaller towns or local markets.
- It is recommended that you drink bottled water and avoid tap water in Turkey.

- Kindly carry a valid photo ID proof. All foreign nationals must carry their passport as a proof of identity.
