    Being one of the oldest and largest monuments of Ubud, the Gunung Kawai is located at the base of lush green river valley and has 10 rock cut shrines. To reach at Gunung Kawai, you have to climb up to 270 stairs. As you walk through, the views of ancient rice fields and greenery will mesmerize you. There are five monuments at Gunung Kawai and are believed to be dedicated to Queen Mahendradatta, King Udayana and their children Marakata, Airlangga, and Anak Wungsu.
