About Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park:

When you head to the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK), you let yourself in the world of magnificent splendor. You will see how mythical legends, spirituality, and the culture of Indonesia has been brought to life in this larger than life statue. This statue, nothing less than an architectural wonder, depicts Lord Vishnu riding on the back of Garuda (which is an eagle-like a bird). The statue is located in the Garuda Wisnu Cultural Park in the southern part of Bali atop a hill. This hill is a vantage point for a breath-taking view of the Indonesian island and the sea. Seeing the pristine blue waters, white sands and the clear blue skies from the statue is an amazingly surreal experience.  The statue is considered to be the second-largest statue in the world. At GWK Bali, you can experience the Indonesian culture very closely by seeing colorful dance performances, tasting the local Balinese food, and seeing the beautiful murals depicting the story of Garuda Wisnu.
