The trail up to the Tiger's Nest is challenging but the monastery perched on that cliff is otherworldly. Beyond the monastery, the dzongs, the prayer flags, the valleys and the pace of life here are all deeply calming. Our guide Dorji was incredibly warm, well-read and made every site feel personal and meaningful. One of the most spiritually satisfying trips I have ever taken, Bhutan deserves every bit of its reputation.

Tiger's Nest hike was challenging but completely worth it. Hotels were clean and well situated at every location.
