Updated as of May 2026

Choose from the wide range of Thrillophilia’s Bangkok-Pattaya tour packages starting from the range of INR 17,500 and going up to INR 54,000 for a trip span of 4 to 9 days. Thrillophilia’s Bangkok-Pattaya packages come with thoughtfully planned inclusions such as stays in premium 3-star to 5-star hotels, daily breakfast, airport transfers, intercity transfers, guided sightseeing tours and 24/7 destination support. Depending on the package you choose, you can also enjoy experiences like Coral Island speedboat tours, visits to Safari World and Marine Park, Chao Phraya dinner cruises, Alcazar or Tiffany shows, temple tours and shopping excursions to places like MBK Centre and Chatuchak Market. Customisation options are also available for honeymooners, families and group travellers.

Thrillophilia’s itineraries are designed in such a way that no day is wasted. If you take a direct flight to Bangkok, you can get to Pattaya in two hours. The next day, explore Pattaya's Coral Island, shows, etc., and return to Bangkok to visit the temples, explore street shopping and enjoy the nightlife. Our most popular tour package on this route is 5N and 6D, which is best for couples and families.

With an overall rating is 4.6 out of 5, these packages are designed by destination experts who focus on comfort, sightseeing flow and local experiences rather than rushed itineraries. Travellers can choose from leisure-focused escapes, family holidays, honeymoon trips and luxury vacations with flexible durations and sightseeing combinations. The best time to plan a Bangkok-Pattaya trip is between November and February for pleasant weather, while April to June is preferred by travellers looking for vibrant festivals, beach activities and better seasonal deals.

Bangkok Pattaya Tour Package - Overview and Price Range

If you are looking for a short combo trip to Bangkok and Pattaya and want to cover two places in a few days without feeling rushed, Thrillophilia's 4 - 6 days are enough for a balanced trip. The package starts from INR 17,500 to INR 32,000 for a short trip. You can experience Bangkok's city and Pattaya’s activities on this short trip. A smooth trip depends on smart planning, your arrival timing, resort location, and internal transfer.

Distance and Travel Time – Bangkok's and Pattaya’s distance is 149 km. It takes 2 to 2.5 hours from Suvarnabhumi Airport to reach Pattaya by road. The time depends on the traffic and the time of travel.

Travel Duration – Looking for a short trip of 4 to 5 days? We suggest a 5N/6D tour package (2 nights in Pattaya and 3 nights in Bangkok). This route is more practical and allows you to get the experience of both destinations.

Best Time to Visit – Plan to visit from November to May. This is a long span of time that covers the Loi Krathong festival in November. During this time, you can go for snorkelling in Coral Island as the weather is pleasant and gives good visibility. If you want to experience the popular Songkran Festival, plan to visit during the month of April.

Who Are These Bangkok-Pattaya Trips Best For?

For each traveller type, the Bangkok-Pattaya tour works differently. The routes and the itineraries are customisable, as a route can be smooth and well-paced for one but not the other. Reviewed by our destination experts and traveller’s feedback, we have made different routes that fit different traveller types.

First-time Thailand Travellers

A common traveller's observation we have noticed is a short trip to Bangkok and Pattaya. This is a good choice for many people who are going on their first international trip. You can easily travel to Bangkok by direct flight and then to Pattaya by road. People often take this route because it makes planning the tour easier and includes a lot of different activities. Plan your trip for the months of November to early May; the weather is pleasant and the views will be clear. Fill out a Thai digital arrival card up to three days before you arrive to make customs faster.

Couples

Bangkok is the most travelled and chosen destination by couples or honeymooners. Honeymoon couples often consider this destination because of its luxury resorts, boat rides to Phi Phi Island and the nightlife. A 4-6 day short trip is better than long honeymoon plans; you can spend more private and romantic time with your partner with lighter itineraries and a flexible schedule, making the trip smooth and fun.

Families

Families with kids and elderly people prefer a slower-paced itinerary with fewer transfers and trips to the islands. The most important things are comfort and safety, smooth travel and proper sightseeing. Families don’t prefer overcrowded places or activities. They want planned activities like Coral Island, Nong Nooch Village tours, etc. From our past travellers' reviews we have seen families prefer staying in North Pattaya or Jomtien as a better choice rather than crowded places with a lot of nightlife.

Friends & Groups

Bangkok and Pattaya are most visited by friends and big groups. Big friends' groups prefer this itinerary, as they can take a short break, which offers nightlife, shopping, and different shows and activities in just one trip. Travellers also appreciate that all the spots are close enough, which avoids travel fatigue.

Note – If you are planning a beach-based activities holiday, this combo might not be suitable for you, but if you are looking for a short Thailand trip with activities and fewer transfers, this route works well. Each of the Bangkok-Pattaya plans works differently for couples, friends and families; as per past travellers' observations, choosing the right package and customising it based on travel preferences should be done early rather than adjusting on the spot. This leads to a much smoother and more valuable trip.

How to Reach Bangkok and Transfer to Pattaya

As of April 2026, the local observation practical route guide is based on the current route information.

How to Reach Bangkok

Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, is the main international airport for entering Bangkok from India. There are direct flights from major Indian cities like Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. Landing in Bangkok is more practical, and then getting a transfer to Pattaya by road.

Transfer to Pattaya

Don Mueang Airport: If you land here, it will take you an extra 30 to 45 minutes to get to Bangkok and then get to Pattaya. The airport is to the north of the city, which makes the trip longer and more tiring. This airport is where a lot of budget and regional airlines land.

U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport – This is the closest airport to Pattaya, 45 mins by road. Limited flights and charter flights operate in this airport. As per 2026 bookings, Indian flight options are limited and less priced; keep this route optional.

Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya Transfer option - It is around 149 km away from the airport. The time depends on traffic, time of day, and road conditions. Pattaya is not connected by other options like a metro or any rail link; it is a road-based transfer.

Thrillophilia’s every package itinerary includes airport transfers, so once you land, you don't have to worry about transportation. If you are travelling separately, there is the Airport Pattaya Bus service, an AC bus that runs directly from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya and Jomtien Beach.

  • Runs from 06:00 to 22:00 daily
  • Journey time is approximately 2 hours with normal traffic and good road conditions
  • The fare is approximately 170-249 Baht per person (INR 400 to 600)
  • Tickets are available near Gate 8; cash payment is advisable
  • The bus stops at North Pattaya Road and continues to Jomtien Beach

Private Car Transfer – Pre-book your cab if travelling with families or a couple. Contact the driver after landing, and he will meet you at the arrivals with a name board.

  • Pre-booking helps with no negotiation, no shared rides, and no last-moment hassle.
  • It costs around INR 2,400 to INR 4,300 based on the cab size and the agency.
  • Journey time is more or less the same, 1.5 to 2 hours, with usual traffic.

Same-Day Transfer – A same-day transfer is based on your flight arrival timing. Most of the time it is possible; it still depends on immigration time and clearance time.

You can transfer on the same day if:

  • Your flight will land at Suvarnabhumi before 6:00 PM local time.
  • Immigration and baggage take no more than 60–75 minutes
  • If you and your group are comfortable with a 2-hour same-day road journey
  • If your flight is late after 8:00 PM, choose a hotel near the airport if travelling with young children and elderly people. Don't start your trip to Pattaya that day because you'll get there after midnight.
  • During peak season, the traffic on the Bangna-Trad Highway is heavier than on usual days. Keep at least 45 to 60 extra minutes for the journey.

Best Time to Visit Bangkok and Pattaya

Seasons in Bangkok and Pattaya work differently. If you are planning to go for Bangkok shopping in Bangkok, another wants a beach day in Pattaya. Seasons are different for each. Based on our local travel specialists and current route insights, we know the best time to visit that suits your trip.

November to February – This is the strongest tourist season, as it is the coolest and driest season in the whole year. If you want to explore Bangkok's market and city with beach time in Pattaya, this is the most reliable time. The temperature remains between 22 and 30 degrees with a lower rate of rainfall. Suitable for evening walks, temple visits, and beach days. You will get overall pleasant weather, which is best for first-time travellers. Travellers often mentioned that in this window, they don't feel rushed or fatigued by completing a temple day in Bangkok, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun all at once. They also mentioned that there is a big difference between doing outdoor activities in high humidity and low humidity.

  • You will get clearer seas and better visibility for the Coral Island day trip
  • December and January are the peak months; expect high hotel rates and high demand.
  • Carry an umbrella; you can expect rain if travelling in early November.

March to May – This window is the hottest month of the year, but you can still travel during this period. Temperatures rise to 33 to 38 degrees around April and May, accompanied by high humidity. A useful detail here is to skip planning long walks and many market visits, as you will not get the same experience as the November-December window. We have received comments where travellers mention that March is still better compared to April.

  • Plan shopping in malls and air-conditioned markets and do indoor activities.
  • Best time for budget travellers, as they will get a good stay at lower rates, and flights will be cheaper.
  • If travelling in April, you get a bonus of witnessing the Songkran Festival, which happens around 13 to 15 April.
  • In May, you can expect thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon, and you can't do any water activities in Pattaya because the sea is too unpredictable.

June to October – By this time, rain enters fully, giving the best prices across flights and hotels. You can't do anything outside or participate in any water sports. Past travellers mentioned that the rain is heavy but short, and it mostly happens in the afternoon. The monsoon in Bangkok and Pattaya is very different from that in Phuket and Krabi, as verified by the local travel experts and recent weather trend observations.

  • The Bangkok tour does not get much affected by the afternoon rain; you can go for temple visits, to malls, to markets and to indoor activities.
  • In Pattaya, you can enjoy the nightlife and local attractions.
  • 30 to 40% price drop in hotel rates in Jomtien and central Pattaya areas.
  • Often, a change in ferry time even gets cancelled due to sea conditions without prior notice.

Expert tip – Not on a random basis but based on past experience, late January to mid-February is the best window for the trip. The New Year crowd gets clear, hotel rates are lower, and the weather is excellent for both Bangkok and Pattaya. Travellers note that during this time, it gives them the best version of the trip with no festival crowd and pleasant weather.

Top Experiences to Include in This Route

Your experience is based on what kind of activities you want to do, what your itinerary fits and what you can skip on a short trip. Based on travellers' reviews and patterns, we have a few curated lists of major attractions.

Bangkok Major Attractions

  1. Grand Palace + Wat Pho + Wat Arun – This combination can be done best on day 2 for first-time travellers. All three of these sites are close and are within walking distance of each other. Keep day 2 as a cultural day on the entire trip. Start early for the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, followed by Wat Pho, a 5-minute walk away. As per recent travellers' feedback, all three can be easily completed if started around 8 AM. Avoid going to the floating market on the same day, as this will become exhausting, as verified by the local Bangkok-based guides.
  2. Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise – Couples, families and first-timers suit it best on Day 1 or Day 3 evenings. It is not just a place to visit but also an experience. Our past customers' reviews often highlight that this is a favourite part of the trip, especially for couples and first-timers. Please note that the cruise operates at multiple times; choose the 7:30 PM slot, as it is best for the nighttime view.
  3. Chatuchak Weekend Market - This market runs only on Saturdays and Sundays. It is one of the world's largest outdoor markets, with more than 8,000 stalls. Travellers' best choice place for shopping for homewares, street foods, antiques, etc. Try to reach there before 11 AM and leave around 1 PM before the crowds get to their peak.
  4. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – Thailand's iconic floating market; major tourists and first-timers often love this experience. You have the best experience before 9 AM when the canal is quieter, and the vendors are relaxed.
  5. ICONSIAM – The Chao Phraya waterfront with a sitting area is often worth visiting for its architecture and riverside setting. The complex also features luxury shopping, indoor floating-market-style food zones, cultural performances, and scenic sunset views overlooking the river, making it more than just a shopping destination.

Pattaya Major Attractions

  1. Coral Island - Fits all kinds of travellers; try to start early, as this place is weather-dependent. Travellers across the world come to visit this coral island, and it is a highly rated spot by travellers. You can take a 30 min ferry ride from Bali Hai Pier and reach any of the six beaches. If you love adventure sports or are a water lover, this is the perfect place for you. Do snorkelling, parasailing, banana boat rides and jet skis. Try out grilled seafood in the seaside cafes and restaurants. Travellers' choice for the best seafood for lunch is on Koh Larn, at affordable prices. A hidden gem, that is Tawaen Beach, is a must-visit place for couples and families. You can walk for 10 mins to Samae and Tien beaches too if you want a quieter place.
  2. Sanctuary Visit – If you are on a short Pattaya trip, plan it based on your timing and priority. It is located on the northern side of Pattaya and has a completely different side from the beach and the nightlife. Visitors spend an hour or so and feel it is enough to admire the wooden works and craftsmanship.
  3. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden - This place is best for families with kids and elderly persons. 15 minutes south of central Pattaya, it is a botanical garden and also has Thai cultural performances, traditional dance and elephant displays.

Visa and Entry Notes for Indian Travellers

Thailand’s visa policy changes frequently, based on the current policy as of April 2026. Always check against the official website before applying for a visa.

Indian tourists need no visa to travel to Thailand if they are Indian passport holders. As confirmed by the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, Indians are expected to have a 60-day visa for tourism and short business trips. As of February 13, 2026, it officially added India to its "Form 60" exemption list, which lets people stay in Thailand for 60 days without a visa. The Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai government's public relations office both confirmed this change on February 18, 2026.

Now you can go for a short Bangkok-Pattaya trip without any visa hassle. Keep a note that visa-free entry and entry-requirement-free are two different things. Don't stop reading after seeing "it's visa-free"; there is a lot more than this. There are three types of entry concepts.

  • Visa Exemption for 60 days – No prior application needed for Indian passport holders for tourism and short business trips. With zero cost, no airport fee, and no need for advance application. You can extend it to 30 days more directly from the Thai immigration office in Thailand. Indians need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before departure and carry proof of hotels and return flights.
  • Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) - This card is mandatory to carry for Indian travellers and non-Thai citizens. This needs to be completed within 3 days of arrival. Apply from the official site. Without the card, you are not allowed to board any airline to Thailand.
  • Thailand e-Visa – Travellers who are planning to stay beyond 60 days for work or study purposes need an e-visa in Thailand. Apply for it from the official site, thaievisa.go.th takes 14 days for processing. You will receive an email with the e-visa once approved. Upload the biodata page of your passport and a recent photo while applying.

Costs of the visa:

  1. The tourist e-visa for Indians, as of April 2026, costs INR 2,500 for a single entry.
  2. Thailand tourist visas cost INR 1,200 to 4,000

Documents for immigration - At least a 6-month valid passport, a return ticket within 60 days, a bank statement, hotel bookings proof, and a TDAC card

Common Planning Mistakes Travellers Make on This Route

  1. Booking a 4N/5D trip and thinking that one can travel at ease. With your travel day, after transferring and recovering from the jet lag fatigue. You are left with 2.5 days in Bangkok and 1.5 days in Pattaya. This trip is often a rushed and tight circuit. Keep your trip to a 5N/6D tour if you want to travel to both cities with proper rest.
  2. Late-night Pattaya transfer is not recommended. For flights that land after 11 PM, the entire clearing and immigration process gets over almost at midnight. Stay at a hotel near the airport and start early in the morning for the Pattaya transfer.
  3. Don't keep walking the street as a base; a common traveller observation is that couples and families are better served by Jomtien Beach or Pratumnak Hill. The area is quieter and cleaner, and located 15 mins away from Walking Street.
  4. A Coral Island visit is not the same in all weather conditions. It is very weather-dependent, and often there are ferry cancellations during the months of May and October. Always have a backup plan, like a visit to Nong Nooch Garden or the Sanctuary of Truth.
  5. Pattaya is not just a place to go to the beach. Many tourists think that Pattaya is like Phuket, with clear waters and a calm island feel. Pattaya is an extension of Bangkok, and it has a more exciting nightlife.

Travel Updates and Safety Information

Thailand visa policies often change; it is always recommended to check the policy before travelling or applying for a visa. Till further announcement from the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi, there is a 60-day visa exemption for Indians.

  • Carry a 6-month valid passport from the date of your Thailand trip.
  • Complete the TDAC process 3 days before travelling
  • Start early for outdoor activities like temple visits by 8 AM during the months of March and May
  • Carry water and wear light clothes and decent dress with covered shoulders and knees to visit the temple
  • During the monsoon months, there is a high chance of Coral Island ferry cancellations without prior notice due to unsafe sea conditions
  • Avoid late-night travelling to Pattaya, as this leads to a slow morning and more fatigue.

FAQs for Bangkok Pattaya Tour Packages

What is the ideal duration for a Bangkok-Pattaya trip?

5 nights and 6 days is the best combination for first-timers. 4 nights and 5 days works well but often feels rushed. Anything under 4 nights makes both cities feel rushed and is best avoided for first-time visitors.

What is the best time to visit Bangkok and Pattaya?

November to February is the best period to visit, as you will get clear skies, lower humidity, and temperatures that remain 22-30 degrees. February is considered great for time, as at that time there is no festive crowd and prices are at their normal range. Avoid April due to intense heat, and plan around Songkran if travelling mid-April.

What are the must-see attractions on this route?

In Bangkok, major attractions are the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, and a rooftop bar evening. In Pattaya, visit Coral Island (Koh Larn), Walking Street, and either Nong Nooch Garden or the Sanctuary of Truth, depending on the traveller.

How far is Pattaya from Bangkok?

Pattaya is around 149 km by road, and it takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours of travel time depending on traffic and time of day. Weekend evenings and Friday afternoons have peak traffic, making the travel time up to 3 hours. There is no train or metro connection; the transfer is entirely by road.

What kind of accommodation and meals are included in packages?

Most packages cover 3-star to 5-star hotels with daily breakfast. Lunch and dinner are typically excluded, and it depends on the package. Always re-check with the hotel owner about the location; a 4-star hotel in the wrong Bangkok area can cost you more in cabs and lost time than the star rating saves.

What is the rough cost from India for a Bangkok-Pattaya trip?

Flight-inclusive packages for 5 nights and 6 days from major Indian cities range from approximately INR 48,000 to INR 78,000 per person as per April 2026. Land-only packages for the same duration run ₹24,000–₹40,000 per person. Peak season and riverside Bangkok stays increase the overall budget.

Do Indians need a visa for Thailand in 2026?

As of April 2026, Indian passport holders enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days for tourism. No fee, no prior application. The mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) must still be completed within 3 days before arrival; this is separate from the visa exemption and applies to all travellers.

What should I pack for a Bangkok-Pattaya trip?

Lightweight breathable clothing for Bangkok's heat, comfortable walking shoes for temple days, swimwear and flip-flops for Coral Island, and at least one outfit with covered shoulders and knees for temple visits. Pack a portable charger, a small daypack, and a light rain jacket if travelling between May and October.

What mistakes should I avoid in Pattaya?

Staying near Walking Street if you are travelling as a couple or family. Booking Coral Island on a fixed non-refundable date during the rainy season. Expecting Pattaya to feel like Phuket or Krabi, it is a mixed-use coastal city, not a beach island.

How should I plan a Bangkok-Pattaya trip?

Fix your hotel locations first: Sukhumvit or Silom in Bangkok, or Jomtien or Pratumnak Hill in Pattaya. Match your flight landing time to your day 1 plan. Keep the temple visits on a single early-start day. Keep one Bangkok evening and one Pattaya evening unscheduled. Book Coral Island, rooftop bars, and any cabaret shows at least 48 hours in advance.

Is Pattaya safe for solo travellers and families?

Pattaya is generally safe for both. Solo travellers, couples, and families all visit regularly without incident. Families and couples do best staying in Jomtien or Naklua, away from the Walking Street zone. Standard travel safety: keep your belongings in crowded areas.

Can I combine Bangkok and Pattaya with other Thai destinations?

On a 5 to 7-night trip, adding a third destination is not recommended; it divides the itinerary and turns every day into a transit day. Phuket, Chiang Mai, or Krabi works better as a standalone trip or an extended long 10-night trip. Bangkok and Pattaya together already offer enough variety for a complete first-time Thailand experience.

What is the best way to travel between Bangkok and Pattaya?

A private car transfer is the most comfortable option for families and groups. The Airport Pattaya Bus from Suvarnabhumi is the best budget option, running from 06:00 to 22:00.

Are Bangkok and Pattaya better than Bangkok and Phuket for a first trip?

For trips of 5 to 7 days, Bangkok and Pattaya are a good trip, with no internal flight, no extra airport, and a 2-hour road connection to Pattaya. Phuket offers more scenic beaches but adds a domestic flight, extra transit time, and a higher overall cost. First-timers generally prefer Bangkok and Pattaya tours.

What are the top things to do in Bangkok in 2 to 3 days?

Grand Palace and Wat Pho on one early morning, Wat Arun by river ferry the same afternoon. Floating market, or Chatuchak, on day 2; Chinatown evening for street food. One rooftop bar evening before the transfer to Pattaya. These five major experiences cover Bangkok's cultural, market, and nightlife layers without feeling rushed in a single day.

What is typically not included in a Bangkok-Pattaya package?

Travel insurance, visa fees where applicable, meals outside the stated plan, optional activities like Coral Island water sports upgrades, and Alcazar Cabaret tickets are based on specific packages only and personal shopping.
