Know Before You Go
- ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered a valid address proof.
- Always be respectful of local customs and traditions. Avoid public displays of affection and be mindful of your behaviour, especially in religious sites.
- Smoking is prohibited in many public places, including beaches, parks, and public transportation. Look for designated smoking areas.
- When visiting national parks and wildlife areas, follow all guidelines to protect wildlife and their habitats. Do not feed or disturb animals.
- Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated. In restaurants and hotels, rounding up the bill or leaving a small amount (around 10%) is a common practice.
- Thailand uses a 220V, 50Hz electrical system with plug types A, B, C, and O. Carry a universal adapter if your devices have different plug types.
- Avoid touching anyone's head, as it is considered the most sacred part of the body in Thai culture. Also, avoid pointing your feet at people or religious objects.
- Show respect for the Thai Royal Family. Speaking negatively about the monarchy is considered a serious offense under Thai law.
- Dispose of waste properly and avoid littering in public places. Keep beaches and natural areas clean by using provided bins.
