Know Before You Go

  • Prepare for a moderate to challenging trek; a good level of fitness is required for the altitude and terrain.
  • The summit reaches 3,785m, so acclimatize properly to avoid altitude sickness.
  • Carry waterproof and warm clothing as temperatures can drop significantly at night, even during the warmer months.
  • Be prepared for early mornings and late evenings; the trek often starts before sunrise.
  • Wear sturdy, waterproof trekking boots that offer support for rocky and uneven terrain.
  • Carry at least 2 liters of water. Refill water from streams along the trail but ensure to purify it first.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential, as the high altitude means stronger sun exposure.
  • A small personal first aid kit is necessary, including band-aids, painkillers, altitude sickness tablets, and antiseptic.
  • There are limited ATM facilities in remote areas, so carry sufficient cash for any emergencies.
  • Expect limited or no network coverage in most areas during the trek.
  • Be mindful of the local traditions and customs; the trail passes through villages with indigenous communities.
