Know Before You Go
- Visitors are expected to dress conservatively, especially when visiting mosques and cultural sites. Women should carry a scarf or shawl to cover their head when entering religious places.
- Abu Dhabi and Al Ain experience high temperatures, particularly during the day. It’s important to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and use hats or sunglasses for protection.
- Public displays of affection, such as holding hands or kissing, are not permitted in public areas.
- The local currency is the UAE Dirham (AED). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but carrying some cash is useful for small purchases at local markets.
- Children above 8 years of age will be considered as adults only. There are no charges for children below 8 years of age.
- ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof. All international participants will have to share passport and visa details on arrival.
- During the holy month of Ramadan, eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours is strictly prohibited.
- Photography is allowed at most tourist sites; however, it is considered disrespectful to photograph locals, particularly Emirati women, without their permission. Always observe posted signs indicating areas where photography is restricted.
- During the Al Ain Desert Safari, it is essential to follow all safety instructions provided by the driver or guide. Dune bashing is an adventurous activity and may not be suitable for pregnant women, elderly individuals, or those with back or heart conditions.
- Guests are encouraged to keep the environment clean by using waste bins and not littering, particularly in natural locations such as the Al Ain Oasis, desert areas, and mountain viewpoints like Jebel Hafeet.
