  • Uzbekistan uses Uzbek Som (UZS), while Kyrgyzstan uses Kyrgyz Som (KGS). ATMs are common in cities, but carry cash for rural areas.
  • Some areas in Kyrgyzstan, like Ala-Archa or Konorchek Canyons, are at higher altitudes—stay hydrated and pace yourself.
