For those who seek to connect with nature, hiking through the countryside of Wayanad can prove to be just the thing. The around 7 hour guided hike will be across mixed terrains and will open up to a breathtaking view of the Kurisumala peak.
The trail starts at around 9.30am, the base of the peak, located in the north-west Wayanad. The terrain changes from the initial hard climb up the rocky road through the dense forest to deserted plantation to the grassland plains. Once you cross the elephant grass, you may be compelled to capture the stunning views with your camera. Walking through the sudden ups and downs of the trail, you may come across a deserted settlement too.
The last stretch of the trip can prove to be a trial with its rough terrain as well as vegetation. But once you have crossed all the hurdles, the view of the white cross before the sudden drop is quite amazing.
After a relaxed lunch (that can be provided by us at an extra cost) at about 1pm, you can start off on the return trip. If you wish, you can end this 12 km trip with a shorter deviation to reach your vehicle. Recharged by the physical activity and the refreshing air, you can now head back to your place of lodging with a peaceful mind.
