Trekking in Hudan
Pangi Valley is located northeast of Chamba town, and is the remotest valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Pangi is a snowbound valley, and consists of five sub-valleys: Hudan, Sural, Parmar, Chasak, and Twan.
East of Killar, upstream of Mahlu Nallah, is located the scenic sub-valley of Hudan. It comprises of Seri Bhatwas, Takwas Tundroo, Ichwas, and Hudan villages.
Hudan is situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level.
Hudan Bhatori houses a Buddhist Gompa, and there is a lake close to the place which remains frozen from December to May. Hudan is an ideal camping site, and annually a fair is held here which mainly attracts people from all over the valley.
There is a rock with three swords dug in to it near Tundroo, only the handles of the swords are visible.
From Hudan, a well-defined trekking trail leads you to Sural, Kiryuni and Twan.

How to Reach:
There are three approaches to Pangi valley. First: from Manali to Killar by road. Second: From Jammu-Kistwar-Killar by road; and the third is from Chamba to Killar over Sach Pass.
There are number of trekking trails available from Killar to reach Hudan. The road connecting Pangi Valley is the 170 km road link from Chamba to Killar via Saach-pass.
This is known as Alwas-Killar road and it is part of Ahju khara Mukh - Chamba - Tissa- Alwas- Killar road. From Chamba via Tissa Bairagarh and Satrundi, the road is motorable up to Bhatotu and from here to Killar, the road is suitable for jeep ride.
The nearest railhead is at Pathankot in the state of Punjab, and the nearest airport is the Gaggal airport.

Killar: Killar is the headquarters of the Pangi valley. It is located in the deep and narrow gorge of Chenab River.
Mahlu Nallah is said to be the gateway to this village. The place is blessed with incredible natural beauty.
Killar is also the base for trekking expedition to Kishtwar, through Umasi la into the Zanskar Valley, and to Keylong and Manali. Dharwas is located 9 km from Killar, and 137 km north east of Chamba.
Shinkal dhar: This vast expanse of grazing grassland is located a few km away from Hudan Lake.
The grassland is known for plants having medicinal properties. Also, near Hudan Bhatori, Nagni springs are located.
