Pura Petitenget Temple

Petitenget Temple, one of the best places to visit near Kuta beach, is a centuries-old temple that is one of the few cultural icons in Seminyak's premium beach resort. Although it has been overshadowed by the modern developments of expensive 5-star resorts in the neighbourhood, this temple is nevertheless a must-see when in Seminyak.

Red bricks and sandstone make up most of the temple’s architecture which gives it a feel of antiquity. The temple's spacious courtyard contains a dozen shrines and modest pavilions wrapped in traditional Balinese chequered cloth, adding to the sacred atmosphere.

You can also get a chance to witness the traditional dance rehearsals that are done periodically under a big pavilion nearby during the joyful temple anniversaries.

Kuta Beach Sea Turtle Conservation

The Kuta Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Program was established with the goal of protecting the tiny eggs and consequently increasing the hatching rates of sea turtles. It all began nearly 17 years ago, and with time it has become one of Kuta's most popular tourist destinations.

Mr. Agung and Wayan began with a single sea turtle nest, which was safeguarded by bamboo planted around the nest. Turtle Rangers patrol the beach at night to ensure that mother sea turtles have a secure spot to lay their eggs and return to the ocean.

They transport the eggs to a hatchery in Kuta, where they will be developed and hatched over the next 45-60 days. This is surely a great place to visit near Kuta beach if you wish to know more about the process of egg hatchings.
