Lake Brienz
Situated in the Canton of Berne, Lake Brienz is a wonderful lake in the north of the Alps spread over an area close to almost 29.8 square kilometres. The lake is about 14 kilometres long, 2.8 kilometres wide and 260 meters deep. Lake Brienz is one of the deepest lakes in Switzerland.

Forested by hills of Faulhorn and Schwarzhorn, the lake projects an amazing scenic magnetism. Also recognized as the turquoise gem, Lake Brienz is brighter and intense than any other lakes in Switzerland. The colour of the lake is turquoise because of the waters coming from the glaciers of the Lütschine and the river Aare carry small particles of the sediments into the lake.

With the deposition of the particles in the lake, a magical effect is created and is amplified to a greater extent as the lake is well maintained. Tourists at all times love to come to Lake Brienz because of its calm and still nature. The lake reflects the clear skies and the surrounding mountains, which makes the surrounding scenic.

You would also find a number of castles and vineyards on the shores of this lake, which entices the tourists to take part in a number of water-based activities and even hosts a number of music festivals all over the year. If you have not paid a visit to this beautiful lake in Switzerland, then why not take a trip to this amazing place with your loved ones and witness the magic of the enchanting environment.

People Also Ask About Interlaken

  1. What are the best places to visit in Interlaken in winters?

    1. Interlaken Lake: During the months of winter, the scenic Interlaken Lake gets completely frozen due to the sudden drop in temperature. So, you can visit here to savor an unnatural beauty of nature or may also try to take a risky walk on the ice.
    2. Hohematte Park: The Hohematte Park, widely known as one of the best parks in Switzerland, has an uncanny beauty and charm of its own. However, with the arrival of winter, every section of this place gets covered under the blanket of thick snow, which, in turn, increases its beauty by a mile.
    3. Unterseen: Mostly popular because of housing various chapels and historical towers, the small village of Unterseen looks almost like a small piece of heaven during the season of winter due to heavy snowfall.
    4. Lake Thun: Just like the Interlaken Lake, the Lake Thun, too, gets covered entirely through thin ice, which makes it as well as its surroundings look extremely beautiful and Instagram-worthy.
