This is one destination that is still unspoiled and remains virgin for a majority of visitors. The calm stretch of the white sands with no sign of overwhelming crowds are some factors that make this place all the more interesting. A favorite destination among the retiree, Kamala has its fixed bunch of visitors who are regulars to this place.

Things to Do: Kamata is known for providing calm environs. The sprawling stretches of white snow and azure water are best for evening strolls and leisure moments. Elephant trekking is another thrilling activity that enables you to enjoy the mesmerizing landscapes.

Getting There: The sole mode of transportation to this quieter location is public transport via blue songthaews that commute between Kamala to Surin and then Phuket town. However, you can even opt for a taxi if travelling from the airport

Sairee Beach, Koh Tao

Haad Sairee, the longest and most popular beach on Koh Tao, boasts a vast stretch of sand lined with bars, restaurants, resorts and dive centers. While the area around the beach is a major hub of activity, the beach itself doesn't get overcrowded – there's always a patch to spread your towel over. The bay can get quite busy with long tail transfers, so keep a keen ear out for boat engines while frolicking. Hawkers do walk the beach selling sarongs, tasty snacks and fresh fruit but are not bothersome. For resort comforts, privacy without total isolation and convenient snorkeling, head north where the coastline gets rockier but the silence makes it worthwhile.

Activities: Apart from snorkeling, Haad Sairee is a top spot to watch the sunset in Koh Tao, and with many beachside bars to choose from, sipping a cocktail as the golden orb dips is a great way to round off a hectic day.
