Thomas Beach Overview

Rightfully regarded as Uluwatu’s hidden gem, Thomas boasts of long stretches of speckless, white sands, fringed by the waves that break gently against its coastline. Unlike several of Bali’s beaches, the current at Thomas Beach makes it a perfect spot for swimming.

A tropical paradise included in the hand-crafted itineraries of our Bali vacation packages from India, Thomas Beach nestles in one of the busiest parts of Bali- the Bukit Peninsula. Yet, it is nowhere near as famous or crowded as its sister beaches. Perhaps this is why the natural elegance of the beach is so well maintained till the very day. Thomas Beach is characterized by the typical image of stunning golden shores, bright blue waters and the sway of palms against sheer white cliffs.

Although not as highly organized as most other public beaches, Thomas Beach does feature a fair share of parasols and chaises for those looking for a quiet day under the sun. Unlike several of Bali’s beaches, the waters here are calm and devoid of current, making it the perfect spot for a quick dip or a swim.

Adventure lovers will find that there is a lot going on at the beach. While anyone is welcome to bring their own boats, paddles or surf equipment, the beachfront here features several rentals leasing out paraphernalia for sports like kayaking, paddleboarding, and surfing. Owing to the calm waters, Thomas Beach can be a great place to learn water sports as well.

Although there are no high-end restaurants at Thomas Beach, one comes across several warungs or local eateries serving traditional Indonesian meals at pocket-friendly prices.

Best Time To Visit

Although Thomas Beach can be visited throughout the day, and all through the year, visiting the beach in the early hours would perhaps be a good idea. The Bali sun is notorious for its scathing heat, and reaching early would not only let one escape the wrath of the midday sun, but also secure them a parasol or a chaise lounge on the beach sands.
