In Goa, there are two types of taxis, the white-colored tourist taxis, and the yellow-topped black regular taxis. The taxis are available for both trip wise and day wise. The charges are fixed per kilometer but with a little bit of hassle, you can come at a reasonable price for your excursions.

Taxi stands are also available at almost all major towns and tourist attractions in Goa providing both kinds of taxis. Many hotels also arrange a taxi at the request of customers to take them for sightseeing in Goa. Most of these taxis have an interstate license so that you could explore destinations outside Goa at your wish. Lately, Goa is also known for Women Taxi Services with a travel hostess trained as Tourist guide.

Rented Vehicle

Wish to explore Goa at your convenience by driving and stopping wherever you wish? A car or bike rental is the most preferable option for tourists who wish to partake in sightseeing in Goa. Hiring motorbikes or scooters is economical and a sturdy option to travel in villages and interiors. The cost of hiring a bike for a day ranges anywhere from Rs 200 to Rs 400. Hiring a car is a more comfortable option but the rental rates range Rs 2000 to Rs 20000. Things to Keep in Mind

Things to Carry

When travelling to any holiday, it is important that you do not miss anything out. There is a tendency among all of us to forget some essentials as we are taken over by the thrill of going on a holiday. Often our busy schedules prevent us from packing diligently. For a vacation to be hassle-free, it is necessary to keep in mind the most important things to carry which make our trip both comfortable and hassle free.

Some of the essentials for keeping in mind when packing to Goa are:

Clothing and Style:

Carry light clothing for a trip in Goa as it has a tropical moderate weather. Cotton clothing like kurtas, T-shirts and shorts are preferable to wear in Goa. For going to the beaches, you will not need your stylish gear or stilettos, just go handy with simple clothes. Sarongs and swimwear are essentials if you wish to take a bath on the beach. Also carry beach towels which are thin and do not retain any sand after you come back from the beach. Carry sunglasses to save your eyes from the sun’s rays.

It is always advised to carry some essentials in case of medical emergencies and be prepared in such circumstances especially when you are travelling. In Goa, with its beaches and sea breezes, the first important thing to carry is mosquito repellants. Go for insect repellant oils or coils that burn which help you keeping away from the insects.

Carry sunscreens and skin lotions to keep your skin away from the sun’s rays and hydrated when you go for any adventure sports. We also suggest you to carry pain killer sprays and some important medicines like Paracetamol or Aspirin. Antiseptic lotions also should be carried to deal with insect bites or cuts when trying water sports.

Carry a moisturizer and shampoo to Goa since you will be going to a tropical location. It is highly recommended if you wish to indulge in activities like water sports, sun bathing, swimming etc. Go for local herbs and Aloe Vera to keep your skin hydrated.

Other Essentials:

  • Important Documents-Always carry an original ID and a copy of attested documents like passports, visa, driving license.

  • Money-You should have enough cash with you while traveling but not too much. Instead go for plastic money and try not to be flashy with either money or jewelry. Also carry enough change with you if you are travelling via public transportation.

  • Camera- Your vacation is as good as the pictures you capture when you go for sightseeing or any other adventurous activity in Goa. We suggest you to carry a camera to collect beautiful memories of Goa. Maybe a selfie stick too to post your selfies on social media for the next check in? However, be aware of sign boards saying “No Flash” and make sure to use camera without it.

  • Carry extra batteries for phone and camera. If you are fond of reading, carry the book next on your wishlist or have a music player handy to listen to music while travelling.

  • An extra bag if you wish to indulge in a shopping spree in Goa.

  • Nudity is not acceptable in India as it is forbidden according to customs and punishable by law. Also try to avoid public display of affection in public areas in Goa. It is best to observe traditional beach fashion and local etiquettes in Goa as in India revealing beachwear and bikinis too are considered a taboo for most people.

  • Always watch over your drinks and never leave them unattended. There is always a danger of your drinks being spiked with drugs which ultimately result in being taken advantage or robbed at these places.

  • Do not litter and refrain from disturbing any natural flora and fauna which may permanently damage their fragile ecosystems.

Simply WOW!! Quite a thrillophilic journey with immensely warm hospitality, perfect planned schedules and of course amazing travel. As planned we were picked up @7 in the morning and were taken to the falls which happens to be around 100 kms. Bus they provide are very comfortable and AC will also be sufficient to beat the heat of sultry Goa. We also covered a landmark church of Goa enroute. They will give you around 15 20 mins to get that holy feel. Once we reached the venue we were given time to have breakfast, meanwhile the guide arranged tickets for the whole group and settled us up in the bolero which takes you from there further. It was again a Splendid journey of 45 mins through mahavir national park where you will cross several streams also. Pure off roading and adventurous experience. From the parking u have to walk for 5 mins to finally reach the destination which, you undoubtedly will feel deserving enough to have travelled for. Such a sublime scene and cool clear water with fishes around you will quench all the tiredness you might have had after traveelinh to several beaches. You get around 1.5 hours in total after final parking out of which for bathing you will get around 45 mins. Caution : please travel with good non slippery shoes as the rocks are too slippery and carelessness might get fatal. No worries though, you wont drown as they will provide you with life jackets so a good news for non swimmers. Post bath again you will be taken back and be served with complimentary lunch in goan style which is quite palatable. Then a short spice plantation tour followed by a return drop to the reapective pick up points. The trip will end in North Goa around 6 evening. ps : If you have time on your goa trip, do visit this place and thrillophilia is definitely a good option to consider coz it will wave off your trip organisational headache.

Superb cycling experience, it was just the 3 of us including the guide and we were able to complete the trip real fast. The bird sanctuary is where we took most of the pics. We went off road through the forest area as well and we could find the railway lines located there. Couple of steep ups and downs which made cycling challenging. The total distance would be 30 kms. Best I've ever cycled
An unforgettable experience for me. For the first time got a chance to get into snorkeling and see the marine life. Thanks alot guys for an amazing experience.
