Lumbini Park Overview

Lumbini Park is a small park in Hyderabad city near Hussain Nagar. It is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The park had been developed for entertainment and relaxation in 1994.

 The maintenance and preservation of the park is under the Buddha Purnima project of the Urban Development Authority of Hyderabad. The main reason for naming the park as Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha.

How To Reach

From Airport - 



The fastest way to reach the park from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is to hire a cab. It takes approximately 34 mins to cover the distance driving via the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and NH44, covering a distance of approximately 32 km.

The other option is to take a bus from the airport to the secretariat, which takes almost 2 hrs to reach the park. The buses operate daily at an interval of 1 hour. From the secretarial to the park, it is a 3 minutes walk.

Best Time To Visit



The best season to visit the park is the winters during the months from November to February when the weather is pleasant and cool in Hyderabad. The afternoon and evening are the perfect time to be present inside the park so that you can watch the musical fountain and the laser show.

The 3D Laser show at Lumbini Park offers a unique experience demonstrating the scintillating combination of music and lights.
