About Haji Ali Dargah

The Haji Ali Dargah is one of the most popular attractions in Mumbai. Located about 500 yards in the middle of the Arabian Sea, just off the Lala Lajpatrai Marg, this religious landmark attracts people of various faith to its doors. This shrine is the resting place of Muslim Saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, and it is his tomb that people from all across the country and the world flock in to visit every year.

The Haji Ali Dargah is counted among the top Sightseeing Places in Mumbai,  attracting as many as twenty-thirty thousand visitors on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays with ten-fifteen thousand pilgrims visiting the dargah daily. The shrine features distinct architectural styles of the Mughal Period.

On the eve of Islamic festivals such as Ramadan and Bakri-Eid, the number of pilgrims increases tenfold. The unique thing about this dargah is that it is much holy to people of other faiths as it is to Muslims. Pilgrims come here without boundaries of caste, creed, religion, wealth or nationality separating them.
