Tha Rua Shrine, Phuket

  • This is considered to be one of the oldest temples among the four islands of Phuket. Temple of Ta Rua is the brightest and largest temple in Phuket and features many strikingly carved dragons, traditional Chinese paintings with outstanding red, gold and green colored theme.  Inside the hall, you’ll find Kwan Yin statues (the Goddess of Mercy) of various sizes as well as other traditional Gods.

     This shrine complex consists of a spacious car parking and other  amenities. The ThaRua Shrine is unquestionably the largest and probably the best-looking  temple in Phuket. 

    Location: Located near the monument to the heroines in Phuket.

    Timings: Opens daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM 

    Things to Keep in Mind: If it is possible, avoid wearing black clothes when visiting any Chinese shrine/temple in Phuket. While white is the most auspicious color, any color than black will do as it considered bad luck.
