About Al Wathba Cycle Track

Al Wathba Cycle Track on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi is a popular cycling destination in the whole of UAE. This new cycle track has gained immense popularity among the residents who are interested in fitness and working out. The Al Wathba Cycle Track is close to the Camel Race Track and is reached by a forty minute drive from Abu Dhabi via E22 highway. 

Surrounded by desert on all sides, the cinematic view of sunrise and sunset along the trail is breathtaking. The Al Wathba Cycle track offers five different routes – 8 kilometres, 16 kilometres, 20 kilometres, 22 kilometres and 30 kilometres. Based on their proficiency, cycling enthusiasts can opt for easier loops while experts who wish to train can cycle on the long and difficult loops. The courses are powered by solar lights and so you can cycle until dusk.

If you do not own a bike, you can hire a rental bike for Dhs30 to Dhs60. Kids bikes and bike trolleys are also available to rent so that the entire family can come along. The rental bike shop is open from 4PM to 10 PM on weekdays and 6:30 AM to 10 PM on weekends. The cycling centre also has helmets, changing rooms with showers and lockers at the base.

• Carry a water bottle, sunscreen and even some seat padding if you are planning to cycle on the longest 30 kilometre route.

How To Reach Al Wathba Cycle Track

Al Wathba Cycle Track is to be found 42 kilometres downtown of Abu Dhabi. The nearby landmark is the Camel Race Track. To reach Al Wathba, you can take a forty minute drive from Abu Dhabi through the E22 highway/ Al Ain Road.

Best Time To Visit Al Wathba Cycle Track

Built with desert in all directions, the Al Wathba Cycle Track is best visited in cooler winter months. January to March, November and December are the preferred time to visit Al Wathba considering the pleasant weather.

Cycling during early mornings and evenings lets you witness the beautiful sunrise and sunset.
