Sural Killar trek is an ideal base camp for a number of trekking trails, and is said to be a paradise for trekking enthusiasts.

Sural consists of Kanwas, Ganmas, Rusmas, Sural, Tai and Sural Bhatori villages.

Killar is the headquarters of Pangi valley. It is located in the deep and narrow gorge of Chenab River.

Mahlu Nallah is said to be the gateway to this village. The place is blessed with incredible natural beauty.

Killar can be reached from Sural via Dharwas, and its the most frequented route.

Also known as Tingloti Pass, Tingloti Gali is situated at a high raising mountain range that separates Sural and Hudan Valley. This is one of the most arduous passes.

A guide is required if you are following this trekking trail to reach Killar from Sural. Also, its better to cross the pass in three stages. 

First stage, you can pitch your camp at the base of the Pass. This base is a flat area and is 8 km from Sural Bhatori.

Second stage, early morning climb to the Pass and reach Hudan Lake that is located at a distance of around 9 km.

Pitch your camp near Hudan Lake.

Third stage, trek down to reach Killar.

Sural can be reached from Dharwas and Killar. The Saichu Valley road is 22 km from Killar and it connects Dharwas, Sural, Rus Unu, Tai Sural and Sural Bhaturi.

Railway Station: The nearest railway station is located at Pathankot.

Airport: The nearest airport is at Gaggal airport.

Trek Length: 2 days trek.

Trek Grade: Moderate to Strenuous.

Best Time to Visit: August to October.

Dharwas: Dharwas is located on the Dalhousie-Kishtwar trek route, and is the largest and the most populated hamlet in the Pangi Valley.

The village is located at an elevation of 8000 feet above sea level. It is considered to be an ideal trekking base and a number of base camps are available here.

Hudan Lake: The snow fed Hudan Lake remains frozen from December to May.

It is located in Hudan Bhatori, and is located at a distance of 9 km from Sural.
