To ship your way to Andaman, you will have to visit Shipping Corporation offices of either Visakhapatnam, Kolkata or Chennai.  Once at Port Blair, each ship normally berths for approximately two to four days.

Your entire ship trip may cost you 3000+ depending on the location you prefer to begin your journey from and the type of onboard stay you choose from. The four types of stay categories common to ships or cruises from all three destinations are a deluxe cabin, first class, second class, and bunk class.

Do not forget to equip either reading materials or any sort of indoor games to keep you entertained throughout three to four days of your shipping journey. Alternatively, you can opt for some movies and songs to keep you engaged throughout your journey.  It may so happen that those who are unfamiliar with the ship journey, may experience discomfort. Therefore, though not mandatory, it is wise enough to consult your doctor and carry appropriate medicines in your first aid kit.

Ship bookings can be availed 15 days before your journey date to avoid any unwanted delays. Also, it is essential to note that none of the ships operates regularly. So, for those who are planning to reach Andaman via boats must have a track of the weekdays on which the ships are functional.

By train or bus:

No place in the world has a connection to Andaman via trains or buses. As Andaman is an island, it is only possible to reach Andaman either via seaways or airways.

Out of all the available travel modes, it is advisable to opt for the airways. This is so because the seawater's highly fluctuating in accordance with the weather conditions. Sometimes, your sea trip to the Andaman Islands can be delayed by even a week or so. This might take a heavy toll of your finances in case you pre-book and hotel for your accommodation.
