Milam Glacier Trek
Milam Glacier is one of the biggest glacier in Kumaon region. It is situated at an altitude of 4268 m above sea level, and originates from the slope of Kohli and Trishul peaks. A tributary of the river Kali River, Gori Ganga, originates from the Milam Glacier. The glacier is surrounded by 52 high peaks and is the axial point for a number of other high altitude treks.
On the way to the destination, one has to walk downhill along the Gori-Ganga River, pass through densely forested area comprising of rhododendron trek, conifers, chestnut and bamboo, and cross the Gor-Ganga River.
On the way, one can enjoy the spectacular view of the Nanda Devi and Hardeol peaks right up to Milam glacier. This moderate to tough trek gains altitude while moving towards Milam village. The snout of Milam Glacier is around 2 hours trek from the village.
Ragash Kund lies midway to the Milam trek. There is a shepherd shelter and a pond that make it an ideal base to pitch your camp, and explore the glacier. The towering peaks of the magnificent Himalayas make this trekking expedition highly captivating, invigorating and enthralling.

How to Reach
Munsiyari is the base camp for Milam trek. From Delhi, you can reach the town either via Kathgodam or Tanakpur. From Delhi, you can catch the Ranikhet Express to reach Kathgodam. Reaching here, hire a taxi to reach Munsiyari via Vijaypur.
