Kanva Reservoir is situated 62 kms from Bangalore and 15 kms from Ramnagara, Magnificent species of bird fly over the reservoir making an attraction for the visitors. The hills in the surrounding area are like the cherry on the cake. They complete the picturesque painting of the reservoir, chirping birds and the natures beauty. 3 km away is the cave temple of Purushotthama Thirtha Gavi which is important to Madhwa Brahmins who visit each year. Stories of a saint performing penance here also do the rounds so watch out for him. The cave temple has a statue of Hanuman erected inside the cave. One can drive to this place as it doesnt take more than an hour in the car.
