1. SNAPPER ROCKS- The small rocky perforation on the Point Ranger is a counter end of Rainbow Bay located on the Gold Coast. The beach has the best conditions for board rides and it’s one of the best surfing spots in Gold Coast.

How to go there: 
By Bus- The bus route number 700 would take you to the destination of Snappers Rocks.
By Taxi- Travelling to the Snappers Rock with taxi is the easiest and convenient way to travel upto Snappers Rock. You can book a taxi from the city centre of Gold Coast and it would easily take you to the desired location.


2. RAINBOW BAY- The bay and beach area of Rainbow Bay is located on the southernmost part of Queensland. The bay experiences some of the longest waves in the world and is included in the Superbank area. Its calm and warm waters make it the most suitable location for surfing in Gold Coast.

Best time to visit-
May and October

How to reach:
By Bus- Take a bus from the Eastern Avenue and reach the Gold Coast Highway, thereafter walk down Musgrave Street to Marine Parade in Coolangatta to reach the Bay.
By Taxi- You can book a taxi at the city center or the Gold Coast Airport, it would take you directly to the bay area.


3. CURRUMBIN BEACH- The beach is covered with rocks and is serene and calm most of the time, here you would also enjoy high waves which are suitable for surfing in Gold Coast. The coastal suburb of the beach is one of the locations that attracts huge crowds to its ideal surfing spots and other sites.

Best time to visit- October and March

How to reach:
By Bus- You can board the bus number 760 and the bus line number 777. The bus fare costs between AUD 5 to AUD 10 and is available at the Gold Coast Airport.
By Taxi- Book a taxi or uber and it will easily take you to the destination site. From the Gold Beach Airport, you can easily catch the taxi and it would drive you to the beach in a minimum of 5 minutes.


4. BURLEIGH HEADS- The cool and calm atmosphere of the beach is one of the best spots for picnic and surfing in Gold Coast, which combines adventure with calmness. Enjoy the suburb of Gold Coast and dive into its waters to swim against the colourful corals and beautiful fishes.

By Bus-
The bus number on the line 777 provides regular transportation to the Gold Coast Airport, it would be a 15 minutes ride.
By Taxi- A taxi that can drop you at Burleigh Heads is the most convenient method to reach the beach. You can catch one easily from the city centre or from the Gold Coast Airport.


5. TALLEBUDGERA CREEK- The creek is the paradise for surfing in Gold Coast which is surrounded by the Burleigh Heads National Park. The creek has the Echo beach located in the northern side which is also the best spot due to its peaceful and quiet atmosphere. You can practice swimming, surfing, kayaking, snorkelling and other sports on the still surface of the sea.

Best time to visit- December to February

How to reach-
By Bus-
You can reach Tallebudgera creek by boarding the bus lines 760 and 763 which will leave you at Casuarina Drive. There is no direct way to the creek, therefore from the drive get a private vehicle to finally reach the destination.
By Taxi- It’s the fastest way to transport to the creek. You can book a taxi from the Gold Coast Airport or the city centre.


6. SURFERS PARADISE- As the name suggests, the beach is the paradise for the watersports especially surfing in Gold Coast. The beautiful white sand beach of Gold Coast is a hotspot for relaxing and swimming. The beach is spread over a stretch of two kilometres and is a perfectly safe spot for surfing.

How to reach:
By Bus-
Board the bus number 777 and it would take you directly to the beach in short 5 to 10 minutes.
By Taxi- You can book a taxi from the airport or the city centre.


7. KIRRA BEACH- The beach is one of the renowned spots in the city, famous for its turquoise waters, pristine stretch of sand and the spiritual home for surfing in Gold Coast. There are several cafes on the beach, take your coffee and enjoy an early morning or late evening stroll on the beach.

By Bus and Tram-
Take the tram from the Cavill Avenue station to Broadbeach South Station, thereafter you can catch the bus line 700 and reach up to the destination.
By Taxi- Take a taxi directly for the beach either from the city centre or the Gold Coast airport.

What are the Tips for surfing in Gold Coast for beginners?

1. It’s advisable to pack all the beach essential commodities and clothes like a coral safe sunscreen, water bottle, an extra pair of clothes, a towel and other such important things.
2. While surfing in Gold Coast cotton clothes are the most comfortable to enjoy the beach and take a stroll in the heat of summer. You must carry a swimsuit for entering into the waters or other clothes made of nylon.
