Batasia Loop
It is a mesmerizing toy train pathway that was brought into existence to reduce the elevation of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Set amidst the lush green mountainside, Batasia Loop offers beautiful views of the valley and snowy abode of Mt. Kanchendzonga. When the toy train meanders its way through the loops of the track, everything about this place seems dreamy. Also, the surrounding tunnels, hill-locked valley and little shops in the area makes Batasia Loop one of the top places to visit in Darjeeling. It is recommended to visit the Loop after witnessing the sunrise at Tiger Hill. This is because the carpet of flowers that leads to Batasia Loop is quite splendorous, especially to the eyes that have witnessed the most beautiful sunrise ever. "Overall a good trek. The Himalayan Trekker guide, Arpan, was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it for beginners. Seasoned trekkers might find it a bit easy."
Trekking to the highest peak of West Bengal was exciting and beautiful as well. Sandakphu Trek is very famous for its beautiful views and amazing scenery and heard a lot about the tales of the locals as well. It was a memorable experience.
In this trek, we mostly stayed at local guest houses and we had an incredible time listening to their stories and seeing their day to day life. The climate was great and we had stayed some nights in camps as well and one date we had a bonfire which was the most memorable day of the trek. We interacted with the group people as well and played fun games as well.
It was one of the most beautiful treks we had visited. The views of all the mountains of different countries are visible from here and the best part is the beautiful trails which are completely covered with lush greenery and beautiful flora and fauna.
I thought I was going for a trek, but instead I went on a self actualisation trip. It had everything- fun, workout, snow, car journey, bonfire, and anything else you can imagine. Before the trip I was quite skeptical, whether or not I would be able to do it, whether or not the weather and conditions would be favourable, but it all worked out. Our trek guides, Bishu and Sasang, were both so amazing, so motivating, and so supportive, that they made our trip a success. At one point, I wasn’t sure if I could continue on this trek, since my legs were giving up, but our guide motivated us, told us we’re almost there, and made us complete the journey. We took shortcuts, we clicked pictures, we went 2km along the mountains just to see the beautiful sunset hiding in the clouds beneath us, and we came back changed. I recommend this trip to anyone who is reading this. The trek is for beginners with will power, and the journey is going to memorable for years, if not more.
The best thing about the trip was our guide Vikram Da..and we generally call him Vikram. He made sure to make us comfortable and ensured our needs to be taken care of. The only thing i would ask Thrilillophilia to do is club people of similar ages and not club a 55-60 yr old person with a group of youngsters. There are differences in mental and physical attributes.
In just 5-days we get to explored Gangtok and Darjeeling and its tourist attractions, the whole trip was well-planned and everything was well-executed...I Will look forward to booking more trips from your team as I am impressed with this trip...
The trek has a famous point from where you can see the clouds in a sleeping buddha position and it was the best view. There were also local tales about Kalanag, a black water lake, and listening to different stories about it from the locals were fun and exciting. Watching mountain ranges and beautiful views make the visit worthwhile.
We visited here during the spring season and it has the best views in this season. The forest offers different views covered in pink, red, and white shades. There is a point from where you can see the highest peaks and it was mesmerizing to see that.
