London Stadium is a multi-use venue for sporting events, music, and is the home of the West Ham United & the Premier League football club. London Stadium was formerly known as ‘The stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park,’ and the Olympic stadium is a multipurpose stadium in the Stratford district of London. The stadium was made of the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2012 summer Olympics and served as the track & field venue. It was also the site for the opening and closing ceremonies.

The first public event of the stadium was in March 2012. This stadium has hosted the Rugby world cup match in 2015 and two of England’s test matches of the Rugby league, 2017 World Para Athletic Championships and the 2017 IAAF world championship in Athletics were held in this stadium.

The stadium has the capacity to hold concerts with 80,000 spectators. The London Stadium is in oval shape with relocatable seating so it can host other games like cricket and baseball. When the stadium was reopened on July 16, it had a seating capacity of 66,000; however, for the football game, the seats are limited to only 60,000.

In 2019, June the London stadium also hosted its first regular-season US major league Baseball game.

How To Reach

By Bus: Take bus numbers 25, 86, 97, 104, 108, 158, 241, 257, 262, 276, 308, 425, 473, and D8 to reach Stratford city bus station or Stratford bus station, which are located a few minutes of walking distance from London Stadium.

By Subway: You can onboard the Jubilee, central, and DLR and get off at the Stratford train station. You can also take the DLR and depart at the Pudding Mill Lane train station.

By Car: You can reach the Olympic stadium London by car.  You can also drive to the stadium conveniently with the A12 and Romford Road running from the east.

Best Time To Visit

The Olympic stadium London can be visited any time between 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM. It will not be crowded as every tour requires a guide, and only a limited number of people are allowed to enter the stadium.

However, you should avoid visiting the stadium on event days and public holidays as you may need to wait for your turn.
