Architecture in Nepal is artistically sculptured temples and squares. The Pashupathinath Temple, the oldest in Kathmandu, is an example of such a marvel. Apart from being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it also hosts the Hindu festival of Shivaratri.

Popularly called the Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath is a famous Buddhist stupa, comfortably located on the top of a hill. The elegance of the Buddha and its mythological relevance makes this a famous tourist site in Kathmandu. Also, pay a visit to the Boudhnath, a large spherical stupa located in the capital city of Nepal.

The Kathmandu Durbar Square, attracting several tourists per year, is a royal treat for sore eyes. This palatial plaza is synonymous with newari architecture in Nepal. Well-worth a visit, in the Durbar, is the Hanuman Dhoka dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the Hindu monkey God.

If you're looking for waterfront dining, entertainment and shopping, make a trip to the Phewa Lake in Pokhara Valley. The cool mountain air, the semi-natural freshwater and the scenic beauty will leave you awestruck!
