One of the greatest Hindu pilgrimages in Nepal, Baraha Chhetra is the spot where Lord Bishnu’s avatar, Barah- a boar incarnation fought with the demon called Hiranakshya and killed him. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is the smallest of Terai’s National Park. However, it is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Just a few kilometers ahead from Pharping, you will find a blood soaked temple of Dakshinkali. The temple, popularly known as Kali Mandir around the world is a favorite Hindu pilgrimage destination.
