Wattamolla Beach Overview

Wattamolla Beach is a popular beach within the Royal National Park which is very well known for its picnic spot, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and bush walking. The waters at the Wattamolla beach itself is quite calm and safe for most water activities but children under the age of 15 are recommended to swim in the calmer and pristine water of the Lagoon.

The Wattamolla Beach houses a serene lagoon, a huge picnic area, a picturesque waterfall and a secluded little beach. It also includes barbecue areas and a paved walking track. The beach is a perfect place for fishing and the most common species that you can find here are the Australian Salmon, Yellowtail AmberJack and the delicious textured Dusky Flatheads amongst many others. The Wattamolla Beach is a perfect family destination for children and adults. The lagoon has really calm waters making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling as well.

The picnic area has several picnic tables as well as quite a few electric barbecues for visitors to use. There are running water facilities as well as a toilet block. Wattamolla Beach also has quite a few hiking trails and lookout points that make for great hiking adventures. Some of these are Providential Point Lookout, the hiking trail to Wattamolla Dam and Eagle Head Rock.
