The Egyptian Museum
Established by Auguste Mariette in 1857 and shifted to its current location in 1897, the Egyptian museum is one of the most fascinating places to see in Cairo. The sheer number of exhibits and collections will attract you to this place again and again. If you are a history lover, you will be in awe of the humongous display of artifacts.

Al Azhar Mosque
Situated in the middle of the Islamic Cairo District, the Al-Azhar Mosque is one of the oldest surviving mosques of the Fatimid era. You can enter the mosque via the Gate of the Barbers, which is the primary entrance.

The Citadel
Built-in 1176 by Saladin, the Citadel of Cairo is one of the most prominent places to see in Cairo. Though the original foundation is no longer in existence, the structure is still formidable and has a unique appeal. Here, the primary attraction site is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali.

Sultan Hassan Mosque
Constructed during the years 1356 to 1363, the Sultan Hassan Mosque is a magnificent personification of Mamluk architecture.
