The total Kareri Lake Trek Distance is around 26 km. The trek to Kareri Lake starts from the Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh and is also considered to be the base camp of Minkiani pass. The trail goes through forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine. The first two kilometers of Kareri Lake Trek Distance comprises a level walk, and after that, there is a steep ascent near Kareri nallah stream that needs to be crossed over several times by getting over the wooden bridges.
You’ll have to trek around 6 kilometers from Kareri Village to Liyoti. Thereafter, another seven kilometers from Liyoti to Kareri Lake. On the third day, you will have to cover thirteen kilometers of Kareri Lake Trek Distance from Kareri Lake to Kareri Village. From Kareri Village, you will return to Dharamshala via Ghera by boarding a jeep. After that, you can go to Mcleodganj if you want to explore the region on your own.

You need to have good physical stamina to take up Kareri Lake Trek. You should be able to walk five to ten kilometers at a stretch, and you need to have aerobic fitness as the level of oxygen becomes less here as this is a high altitude trek.
