It is very common today to see many youngsters and adventure freaks alike who take off on long road trips occasionally. Crossing borders and cruising along unknown and new territories, exploring the places on the side is an all time high. The best thing about road trips in India is that there is no restriction as to the time and season for traveling. Summers however are the most preferred time slots. There are indeed many hot spot places where one can go for long motor rides.
Here is the list of best road trips in India.
1. Manali- Leh
The Manali- Leh route is one of the most popular sites for Indian road trips. Being deserted and a road less trodden, one can have an awesome experience, thought the route is considered one of the toughest motorcycling roads. But adventure enthusiasts can look forward to an amazing time here, no doubt!
Probable Route: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Tandi – Keylong – Jispa – Zing Zing Bar – Baralacha La (Pass) – Bharatpur – Sarchu – Ghata loops – Nakee La – LachLung La – Pang – More Plains – Tanglang La – Upshi – Karu – Leh (finally!) 2. Shillong to Cherrapunjee
Move over the mountains now and one of my personal favorite road trips is from Shillong to Cherrapunjee. One of the things that took me by surprise was that the whole route was marked by a really scenic route. The roads are good and one can even come across the Cherra Bridge to catch a breath. The scenic beauty of the route is something that no camera can capture to the fullest. However, make sure to catch a sight of the famous “Bara Pani“(Bada Pani in Hindi). The lesser known and lesser explored trail is definitely something you must engage in this year.
3. Bangalore- Goa
For a fun trip, head straight for the Bangalore- Goa route. A much favored route for the hip crowd, one can opt between two routes, namely via Belgaum or Via Shimoga. However, it is better to go on the Belgaum route to avoid the probable landslides that occur on the Shimoga route. Your itinerary must cover some of the basic regions like Jog Falls, Murdeshwara, and the many forts in Goa.

The Pune Dedwana Route is one nice trip especially if on a bike. Get ready to get a slice of indai as the route I respledendent with many interesting cities.
