Timangarh is a famous historical fort situated near Karauli in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Timangarh or Tisman was a very powerful Ror ruler in the second century.

This is the same Tisman who ruled over Ujjain and is recognized by present-day historians as Chastana.

Timangarh was built when Tisman ruled over a great area in Western India encompassing the present-day Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryanaand Western Uttar Pradesh.

Vehicles like Gypsies or Pajeros are used for off the road terrains in this area.

The roads have many pot holes and driving around the fort will be a good test of ones driving skills.

There is a lake near the fort driving through which be very adventurous.

The hills that surround the fort are good places to drive around.

By train: From Delhi to Jaipur in Ashram and by road to Karauli..

By Road: Regular buses run between Jaipur and Karauli at Rs 65.

Distance: Delhi - Jaipur : 259 km

Exact Location: 40 km from town along a potholed road.

Best time to visit: Can be visited all round the year.
