Sajjangarh Palace Overview

High in the Aravalli Hills, the Sajjangarh Palace, also known as Monsoon Palace, is located on the outskirts of Udaipur City overlooking Fateh Sagar Lake. The Palace is known for its marvellous architecture, panoramic views of the city, and beautiful sunset spectacle. The Sajjangarh Palace was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in the year 1884.

The palace was chiefly built to overlook the monsoon clouds, hence the name, and to get a stunning city view. The palace is built with white marble with intricate floral and leaf motifs carved on the pillars. The palace has a vast central court with an opulent staircase and rooms. Its domes, fountains, and jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies) exemplify the exquisite marvels of Rajasthani architecture.
