CRYSTAL GALLERY

Located inside the Fateh Prakash Palace is one of the gems of Udaipur, the world-famous Crystal Gallery. This gallery was built in 1877 by Maharana Sajjan Singh to house his crystal collection ordered from Birmingham-based F&C Osler firm. The crystals were put on public display in 1994 and boasts of being the largest private collection of crystal in the world.

The gallery, located on the second floor of Durbar Sabhaghar, displays objets d’art, perfume bottles, glasses, dinner sets, decanters, bowls, and furniture. Some of the major attractions include the priceless Flora Danica dinner service, a crystal bed and a crystal studded carpet. How To Reach

1. By Car: The activity location is 2.6 km from the city centre, it will take 6 min by car via the Hiran Magri Main Rd/Sevashram Choraha route.

2. By Foot: If you travel by foot from the city centre, you will need to walk for 2.9 kms and walk via Chandra Shekhar Ajad Marg/Wakal Mata Rd to reach in 39 minutes.

3. By Bus: Take a bus to Nagar Nigam City Bus Stand which is 3.1 km away from the gallery. You can reach the location from the bus stand with a 9-minute drive by car via Wakal Mata Road.

4. By Train: Take a train to UdaipurRailway station which is 3.4 km away from the gallery. You can reach the location from the train station with a 8-minute drive by car.

Best Time To Visit

Crystal Gallery remains open throughout the year and can be visited anytime of the year.

1. Best season: The best season to visit the gallery is in the winter in the months from September till March when the weather is pleasant and enjoyable for sightseeing.

2. Best day in the week: The best day in the week to visit Crystal Gallery is during the weekdays when the place is not too crowded and you will be able to see the displays at your own pace. 

3. The best time of the day: It is best to visit the gallery in the morning when you can spend 2 to 3 hours watching all the displays meticulously. 

Other Essential Information

• To ensure that the crystal artefacts cannot be replicated, photography inside the gallery is strictly prohibited.
• You will be able to access the audio guide as a part of the ticket to listen to the commentary in English/ French, German / Spanish.
• The Crystal Gallery remains open on all days from 9.00 am in the morning till 7.00 pm in the evening.
• Your Crystal Gallery ticket will also give you access to the Durbar Hall.
• You will need 2-3 hours to complete viewing the complete gallery.
