Witness the awe-inspiring views of Dhauladhar Range, visit mystical lakes, ancient temples and unexplored charming Hindu villages tucked away amidst the valleys.
Your journey commences from the winsome Dharamsala/McLeodganj, where people flit off for a hill vacation. Steeped in vibrancy and serenity, this place is where His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and his Tibetan government in exile reside. Get to visit the museums and amble through the Tibetan market, the day you arrive at McLeodganj. Begin your trekking Kangra valley with reaching the stunning high altitude Kareri Lake through the enchanting Kareri Village.
Relish in walk through woody forests, camp beside a lake, interact with local people and get a whiff of their life, ascend steep slopes that are not too challenging and sink in the great views that abound all around.
How To Reach:
It can be easily approachable by road via public or private transport.
After breakfast today we drive to BohVillage the starting point of the trek. It is a steep ascent from Boh for about couple of hours to reach Batuni Village. At Batuniwe visit the village and witness the lifestyle of local people. Another hours climb takes us to Lingru Nag Temple which is our lunch point. After lunch it is a downhill walk through the lush green fields till we reach Kanol Village where we camp for the overnight stay.Overnight in the tents/ home stay.
After breakfast we start our trek walking through some beautiful small villages. Today we see village kids and also interact with the young local inhabitants. We reachKareri village by evening. The campsite is located on the banks of a small and beautiful rivulet. Overnight in the tents/ guest house at Kareri village.
A gradual more or less a flat walk from Kareri Village takes us to KhariBehi. From KhariBehi it is a steep downhill walk for about an hour to Rawa Village, situated on the bank of a small river. From Rawa village it is steep ascent for another 2 hours to Bahl Village. Camp near a small stream close to the village.Overnight in the tents/ home stay.
Early start is recommended as the trail is generally uphill for the day. Cross the Bhatedriver and follow a rough trail which climbs steeply through the forest to Galu temple. From here the terrain changes to a wide paved mountain path as we continue our gradual uphill climb all the way till Triund.”Triund” is set on an alpine meadow, high up on a ridge facing snowcapped peaks of Dhauladhar on one side and beautiful Kangra Valley on the other. Camp here for the overnight stay. Overnight in the tents/ guest house.
This is probably the finest stretch of the trek from Triund to Mcleodganj. The excellent hike of the day offers excellent views of Dhauladhars. There are excellent views of Dhauladhar range in the north and Dhramshala valley in the south. We pass along a beautiful water fall before finishing our trek at Bhagsu Nag village near a Hindu temple. Trek ends here. From here we drive to to Mcleodganj.

Kangara Valley Dhauladhars trek worked out to be an excellent trip in my lifetime. If you want to experience a really great trekking one, I suggest that this trek is the above a perfect one. I had heard about this trek from my family friend who had already been to this place, he said that this trek will fit into my budget and taste, this is how I landed up convincing my office mates to opt for this trip when they were hunting out for some trekking holiday. We were a batch of 15 people – combination of both amateurs and professional trekkers. A trek that touches the Dhauladharas range is simple awe striking. We visited many lovely lakes, ancient temples and a plenty of Hindu temples on the way. The scenes are still lovely and fresh in front of my eyes even now, if an opportunity strikes again I would surely pick this trek as my next trekking break.

As we were advancing towards the end of this trek in the Kangra Valley, we were really upset as it was getting over. From the terrains to the views round, nice places to visit and the friendly trek instructors made this trek a special one for me. Me and 2 of my college mates had a great time over the 5 days and we will recommend this one for everyone.

This is one of the finest treks that I have experienced so far in my trekking career. All you need is a little bit of stamina and energy to complete the trek in a memorable manner. Being on a trek is not so easy but a trek to Kangara valley Dhauladhars is a really valuable and worthy one. I took up a trek to this beautiful place a month back and have refreshing memories to share on it. It was a fine and great trek. I even would like to admit that the surroundings are brilliant and worth watching.

I am a history researcher and love to explore the ancient temples and age old villages, and I got an opportunity to explore the same when I had taken up a trek to this place at Kangara Valley. Things turned out to be too well and entertaining. I loved the trek and the memories that are attached to this trek. I should say that this is the best trek that I had ever undertaken in my life. We had lot of fun and entertainment on this break. The camping and the overnight stay on my way to Boh village was the best part in this trek. Worth trek and trip overall.

The Kangara valley dhauladhars trek is the most pleasing trek trail at Himachal Pradesh, if you are somewhere nearby to this place you can very easily trek off to this place and if you are somewhere little far, you can rope in to this trek in your next trekking list. The whole trek was super exciting and loved it a lot. I had been to this trek with my friends last week and this turned out to be too great for me and my friends.

When my dad had planned for a hill station vacation this year, I immediately surfed on the internet and pick the Kangara Valley Dhauladharas trek. I knew my family would never allow me to go on a trek alone, but this trek was a one that I had to take up with my members, that being said, we have good review to share on this place regarding the trek. I personally loved the kareri village which seemed to be a very pleasing and peaceful one. The rivers and the woods that we crossed across were a splendid faraway view.

Basically I am not a trekking freak and my health also stumbles then and there, but I took courage to go on this trek with my friends as I was too inclined towards the Tibetan market and all those stuffs, luckily I never faced any problem as such and got positive things to share over here. Well I have to say that this trek will turn out to be a really marvellous one if you are energetic and active. Good food and vehicles were served on time. Camping was a great fun too.

I have never been alone on a trek before, but this trek I was forced to go alone as my friends dropped out at the last moment, still I decided to move on with this one. Initially I felt a bit weird to be in-between outsiders, but slowly the organizers and my co-trekkers helped me out all the way through and we had a very pleasant and co-operative stay. I ended up getting many friends through this trek.

This was a challenging trek but we loved it though. The trek was way beyond what we had expected; our co-ordinators had well planned and executed the whole trek. There was no communication obstacle too, we were informed of each and every part on this journey and all took place as per the planned schedule. Worth the money spent I what I have got to say regarding the trek.

The trek is a moderate trekking level one, we as a gang of five people had fun clicking pictures and trailing to see the unique beauty of the villages and nearby lakes. Great time with such a good team of organizers.
This trek is approachable for all throughout the year except for when the byway to triund is cut off by heavy snowfall in the months of January and February.
This trek is available to people with little or no previous trekking or climbing experience and will help get you started or build your confidence for further trekking. You must have a good level of fitness and be able to carry a 10kg pack for 5- 6 hours.
Make sure to carry warm and comfortable clothing as temperature can drop, pack good quality trekking shoes, slippers and extra pair of socks. It’s advisable to carry sunscreen lotion or any other skin moisturisers as the sun at the top can be harsh. Water bottles and energy bars/snacks are advisable. A Flashlight (with spare batteries) will help once the sun goes down and it’s always smart to carry insect repellent and emergency medical kit.
Altitude sickness is very common among trekkers during himalayan treks, it is wise to consult your doctor for the right medication before your trip. Drinking lost of water can also help stabalise the body along with resting at regular intervals. The best rate of acclimatization is to gain no more than 300m (1000 feet) per a day. If you increase this rate you will be much more susceptible to Elevation Sickness. Getting adequate sleep also can help avoid this.
A 60 Ltr backpack is advisable to carry but amount of weight to be carried depends on your requirements and capacity. Porters and mules will be available at an extra cost of INR 250 and will carry a maximum of only 10kgs.
Good quality and sturdy trekking shoes that cover your ankles. Refrain from usong sport shoes for your own safety and the trails are uneven and tricky hence requiring good grip trekking shoes. If you are buying new shoes for your trek, please remember to use them for at least a month before you commence your holiday.
All your meals are included in this trek. You will be served a perfect nutritional balance of Indian vegetarian food during this trek. Himalayan water is considered a clean and mineral water but to be on the safe side you will get boiled water with chlorine tablets
