Vietnam Honeymoon Packages

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Vietnam Operations Team

Updated as of May 2026

The key to a successful trip with Thrillophilia’s Vietnam honeymoon packages is choosing the right route that fits your travel preferences. While some couples prefer the classic combination of Hanoi’s colonial charm and a misty Halong Bay cruise, others lean toward the coastal relaxation of Da Nang and Hoi An. A realistic cost for these journeys varies based on your travel style and duration, besides the experiences you wish to have. Vietnam honeymoon packages from India typically start around INR 38,990 and can go up to INR 1,42,000 for luxury tiers. These prices fluctuate depending on whether you choose boutique stays or premium resorts and which season you plan your visit.

Vietnam spans multiple climatic zones, hence, factors like internal flight logistics and regional weather shifts are as critical to the trip’s success as the destinations themselves. Adventure seekers often head north for trekking, while those wanting relaxation prefer the southern islands and central coastal resorts. The tropical island seclusion of Phu Quoc or a mixed north-to-central circuit are also chosen frequently as honeymoon routes.

We offer a wide variety of Vietnam tour packages for couples that comprise different routes and experiences, and customers have rated them 4.8 out of 5. No matter the package you choose, you can rest assured of top-notch travel arrangements, including stays, private transfers, and select meals (usually breakfast). You can also enjoy guided sightseeing tours and 24/7 customer support throughout your journey, promising a safe and sound experience for newlyweds.

Popular Routes For a Vietnam Honeymoon

Vietnam is a long and narrow country, and strong route planning is fundamentally necessary for any trip.

1.The Northern Route - Hanoi, Sapa, and Halong Bay

This route suits couples who want to admire the mix of deep Vietnamese culture in Hanoi, the dramatic mountain landscapes of Sapa, and a classic Halong Bay cruise. It is most comfortable when spread across 7 to 9 days. One honest trade-off is the mountain weather, as temperatures in Sapa can drop below 10°C between December and February.

  • Hanoi: The capital city is the starting point. The Old Quarter remains the cultural heart, located just a 5-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake. It is best to spend 2 days here to explore the architecture, learn about the history, and experience the culture of the place.
  • Sapa: A mountain retreat reached by train or bus. A cable car reaches the summit of Mt Fansipan in 20 minutes, though the full trek takes 2 days. Note that thick mist can reduce visibility for several days.
  • Halong Bay: Located 4 hours from Hanoi, Halong Bay is a must-include stop while in Vietnam. Overnight cruises typically run for 2-days and 1 night, and cost between approx. INR 9272 and INR 27814 per person. Day cruises, on the other hand, range from INR 3708 to INR 9272.
  • Ninh Binh: Often called "Halong Bay on Land," it offers serene boat rides through limestone caves of Tam Coc and extensive rice paddies.

2.The Central Route - Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hue

This circuit is best for couples who enjoy learning about the historic architecture and spending quieter beach time. All three stops are within 1 to 2 hours of each other, so road travel is minimal. A major limitation is that central Vietnam sees heavy rainfall and occasional storms between October and December, so the timing of your travel must be considered accordingly.

  • Da Nang: This is the gateway to the region. The Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills is reached by a 20-minute cable car ride from the base of the hills, with entry fees costing around INR 2640 to INR 3345.
  • Hoi An: Famous for its lantern-lit old town, Hoi An can offer an excellent cultural experience in Vietnam. An Bang Beach is just 4 km from the town centre and provides a quiet space for taking romantic walks.
  • Hue: You can explore the Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda at a much slower pace than in Hoi An. It was the former capital of Vietnam, so you can witness the colonial architecture here as well.

3.The Southern Route - Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc

This route works well for an 8 to 10-day itinerary focusing on city tours, river adventures, and tropical beaches. It offers a high-contrast experience between the lively spirit of Vietnam’s largest city and the palm-fringed shores of serene beaches and islands.

  • Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Diamond Island: It is a metropolis where you can visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Cu Chi Tunnels, which are located 44 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. The Diamond Island is a premier residential place with high-end neighbourhoods. While here, couples often participate in cooking classes that showcase the rich culinary heritage of Vietnam.
  • Mekong Delta: Most honeymooners opt for a full-day excursion to towns like Ben Tre or My Tho, located about 2 hours from Saigon. Couples can row through narrow, coconut-shaded canals on a traditional sampan. For a more intimate experience, you can consider an overnight stay in a riverside eco-lodge to witness the early morning floating markets.
  • Phu Quoc: You can reach here via a 1-hour flight from the mainland. The Northern Phu Quoc is home to vast wildlife safaris, while the South (specifically around Sunset Town and An Thoi) is famed for the Hon Thom Cable Car, the world's longest sea-crossing cable car. The powdery white sands of Sao Beach are also popular in Southern Phu Quoc.

4.The Mixed Route: For Explorers

  • The "Three Souls" Circuit (Hanoi + Hoi An + Ho Chi Minh City): This is the go-to route for first-time couples who want to see the "Best of Vietnam" in a single trip. This route may take over 9–10 days, and you will travel the country’s entire length. This route requires at least two internal flights (Hanoi to Da Nang and Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City). These typically cost around INR 3,000 to INR 5,500 per sector per person for standard domestic flights.

For What This Honeymoon is best for

Vietnam is a versatile destination, but it caters most effectively to specific travel moods:

1.The "Slow-Pace" Romantics

Best for couples who want to anchor their trip around 2 or 3 "romance bases", such as staying in a private villa in Hoi An or taking a luxury cruise in Halong Bay. Prioritising spa sessions and late check-outs over a packed checklist is the way to go for such travellers.

Preferred Route: Hoi An + Ninh Binh + Halong Bay. This circuit prioritises vibes and relaxation over activity.

2.The Adventure Pair

Ideal for those who want exciting excursions/activities/treks on their honeymoon. From the high-altitude trekking trails of Sapa to the massive dry caves of Phong Nha, Vietnam can be full of surprises! These routes focus on physical engagement and "first-time" shared thrills.

Preferred Route: Sapa + Phong Nha + Halong Bay (Kayaking-focused)

3.Cultural Explorers

This is good for those who enjoy walking through the lantern-lit streets of Hanoi, visiting the historic Imperial Citadel in Hue, and participating in local cooking classes.

Preferred Route: Hanoi + Hue + Hoi An.

4.The Beach Hoppers

Ideal for couples who want to spend their honeymoon moving between different coastal settings, from secluded islands to vibrant resort towns. You can witness the white-sand "Pearl Island" of Phu Quoc as well as the untouched, rugged beauty of Con Dao. It’s all about sunset cocktails, island-hopping by speedboat, and snorkelling in crystal-clear waters.

Preferred Route: Phu Quoc + Con Dao + Mui Ne.

5.The Mixed Experience Seekers

Best for couples who want a "best of all worlds" itinerary without missing the major landmarks. This balanced circuit provides a taste of everything- from the high energy of Hanoi’s Old Quarter to the calm waters of the bay and the quiet, lantern-lit evenings of central Vietnam.

Preferred Route: Hanoi (Culture) + Halong Bay (Romance) + Da Nang/Hoi An (Beach & Heritage).

Honeymooners’ Note: If your priority is privacy, look toward the central coast or southern islands. If you crave misty mountains and deep history, focus your efforts entirely on the North. Trying to mix both in a short trip often results in more time at the airport than at the destination.

Most Popular Vietnam Honeymoon Itineraries by Duration

Your route depends entirely on how many days you have, the season of travel, and the experiences you want to have on your honeymoon. Trying to see the whole country in under 10 days often leads to travel fatigue and is not recommended for a seamless honeymoon trip.

1.5 Days / 4 Nights: Hanoi (2N) + Halong Bay Cruise (1N) + Hanoi (1N).

Best for: A high-impact romantic experience.

2.7 Days / 6 Nights: Hanoi (2N) + Halong Bay (1N) + Da Nang/Hoi An (3N).

Best for: A balanced mix of scenery and heritage.

3.10 Days / 9 Nights: Hanoi (2N) + Halong Bay (1N) + Hoi An (3N) + Ho Chi Minh City (1N) + Phu

Quoc (2N).

Best for: Experience the cities, beaches, and mountains together!

4.14 Days (The Slow Romance Odyssey): Extended stays in Sapa, Ninh Binh, and the Mekong

Delta

Best for: Deep exploration at a relaxed pace.

Best Time To Visit Vietnam by Region

Vietnam spans over 1,600 km vertically, so the weather is quite different across the country. Understanding the month-by-month regional variations is vital for a comfortable honeymoon trip to Vietnam.

North Vietnam (Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa)

The north experiences four distinct seasons- Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

  • Best Months (October to April): Autumn, winter, and Spring are the dry seasons, so you can expect cool to cold weather with average temperatures of 17°C–22°C. Sapa in December and January can drop below 5°C, creating a misty, romantic mountain atmosphere but requiring heavy woolens.
  • Avoid (May to August): This is the peak of summer, so the weather remains hot, humid, and rainy. Intense afternoon downpours are common, and occasional typhoons can lead to Halong Bay cruise cancellations.

Central Vietnam (Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue)

This region operates on a different cycle from the north and south, experiencing plenty of sunshine even when the rest of the country is experiencing monsoons. Here, monsoons occur during the dry winter months of November and December.

  • Best Months (January to August): This is a long dry season with plenty of sunshine and blue skies, often called the ‘Golden Window’ for central Vietnam. It is perfect for beach stays in Da Nang or evening lantern walks in Hoi An. Temperatures range from a comfortable 22°C to a hot 34°C.
  • Avoid (September to December): This is the monsoon and typhoon season. Central Vietnam is prone to flooding, particularly in October and November. Many beach activities and boat rides in Hoi An are suspended during these months.

South Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc)

The south has a fairly stable tropical climate with two main seasons- dry and rainy. Unlike the North, temperatures in these regions are fairly warm and consistent.

  • Best Months (November to April): The dry season offers lower humidity and clear waters around Phu Quoc, making it the best time for snorkelling and sunset dinners. Temperatures typically hover around 25°C–32°C.
  • Avoid (May to October): While it rains frequently, it usually comes in short, heavy bursts. The region remains lush and green, and travel is still very manageable, though the sea around the islands can be rough.

Things to do on a Vietnam honeymoon

1.Overnight cruise on Halong Bay: Most cruises include all meals and guided visits to limestone caves over 2 days. It is a relaxing way to see the bay, but expect to see many other boats in the same area.

Mid-range (4-star): INR 13,000 – INR 25,000 per person.

Luxury (5-star): INR 18,000 – INR 45,000 per person.

Note: Government-mandated environmental fees (approx. INR 500) are often charged separately.

2.Minera Hot Springs at Binh Chau: Located near Ho Chi Minh City, these springs offer private mud baths and mineral pools for couples.

Entry: INR 1,500 – INR 2,000 per person (depending on weekday/weekend rates).

Private Mud Bath: Expect to pay an additional INR 1,200 – INR 1,800 for dedicated couple packages.

3.Snorkelling at Con Dao: These islands are less developed than Phu Quoc and offer clearer water for snorkelling. A useful note is that the islands are more expensive to reach and have fewer budget dining options.

4.Speedboat Snorkelling Tour: Typically costs INR 3,000 – INR 6,000 per person, depending on the number of islands visited. You can opt for a flight instead of a ferry while returning to save time.

5.Candlelit dinner in Halong caves: Some premium cruises organise private dinners inside illuminated caves for a high extra cost. It is a highly curated experience that requires booking several weeks in advance.

Cost: Often exceeds INR 15,000 – INR 25,000 per couple above the cruise price. It requires a private setup and catering staff to be moved into the cave, so booking 3–4 weeks in advance is essential.

6.Full Moon Lantern Festival at Hoi An: This event happens on the 14th of every lunar month when the old town switches off its electric lights. It is a crowded experience but offers a unique view of the lantern-lit streets.

Sampan Boat Ride + Lantern Release: INR 500 – INR 1,000 per boat (seats two).

Pro-Tip: Expect a surcharge of approx. INR 350 per person on major lunar festival dates.

Note: Entry to this ancient town is free, however, during festivals, you may be charged around INR 400 as a heritage ticket.

7.Couples cooking class at Ho Chi Minh City: These 3-hour sessions usually start with a market visit to buy fresh ingredients.

Cost: INR 3,500 – INR 5,500 per person. Highly-rated classes like Saigon Cooking Class or M.O.M fall in this range and provide a 3-course meal.

8.Golden Bridge walk at Da Nang: The bridge is held by two giant stone hands and is located within the Ba Na Hills theme park. Arrive before 8 AM to avoid the large tour groups that arrive by mid-morning.

  • Entry Ticket:INR 2640 to INR 3345 per person. This includes the cable car, the Golden Bridge, and the Fantasy Park. Children under the height of 1 m can enter free.

Note: A buffet lunch combo usually adds INR 1,000 or more to the ticket price.

Know More About: Golden Bridge walk

9.Paradise Caves trek at Quang Binh: This involves exploring one of the largest dry caves in the world along a 1-km-long wooden boardwalk. The cave interior stays a constant 18°C throughout the year, and you can trek (4-7 km) or kayak here as well.

  • Entry Fee: INR 850 per person (250,000 VND).
  • Buggy Service: INR 100 for a round-trip from the parking area to the cave entrance to save your energy for the 500+ stairs inside.

Common Planning Mistakes Couples Make

Avoiding these pitfalls is essential for a stress-free trip with a Vietnam honeymoon package:

  1. The "Three-Region" Rush: Attempting to cover the North, Central, and South in a single 7-day trip or less. This forces you into constant airport transits, leaving little time for the honeymoon. You need at least 9-10 days to cover only the major highlights of each region.
  2. Falling for the Cheap Flight trap: Many couples prioritize finding the lowest international airfare without considering Vietnam's geography. They might book a "great deal" landing in Ho Chi Minh City (South), even if their dream is to see Halong Bay (North). Because these two points are over 1,600 km apart, this decision often backfires in financial and time loss.
  3. Ignoring the Regional Season Divide: Booking a central Vietnam beach stay in Hoi An during the October–December storm season, or expecting tropical warmth in Hanoi during winter.
  4. Over-Scheduling Adventure: Forcing multiple "must-do" treks into every day. A honeymoon needs buffers for both to unwind and de-stress. This is why one active day should be followed by a "no-agenda" morning.
  5. The "Iconic" Trap: Treating every famous spot as essential. A crowded day at Ba Na Hills might feel more stressful than romantic, compared to a quiet boat ride in Ninh Binh. So, choose those places to visit in Vietnam for couples that will not be draining.
  6. Forcing Incompatible Travel Styles: Trying to force a "backpacker" budget route onto a couple that prefers comfort. In Vietnam, the jump from a hotel costing INR 2,000 to one costing INR 5,000 is massive in terms of romantic value.

Vietnam Honeymoon Trip Cost-Realistic Budget Breakdown

Costs are primarily driven by your choice of flights and the level of luxury in your accommodation and experiences. Transfers can also determine cost changes; however, it is included in your Vietnam honeymoon tour package for couples, so you can choose your preferred vehicle.

1. Budget Couple Route (Low Range: INR 45,000 – INR 65,000 per person)

  • Accommodation: Budget 3-star hotels (INR 1,500 – INR 2,500 per night).
  • Dining: Focus on street food like Pho or Banh Mi (INR 150 – INR 300 per meal).
  • Tours: Shared group tours for Halong Bay and Mekong Delta (approx. INR 4,000–6,000 per activity).

2. Mid-Range Honeymoon Route (Comfort: INR 65,000 – INR 95,000 per person)

  • Accommodation: 4-star boutique hotels with breakfast (INR 4,000 – INR 8,000 per night).
  • Dining: Mix of street food and sit-down local restaurants (INR 1,000 – INR 1,800 per meal).
  • Tours: Semi-private tours and a high-end 2D1N cruise (INR 9,000 – INR 27,000).

3. Premium Luxury Uplift (High Range: INR 1,20,000 – INR 2,00,000+ per person)

  • Accommodation: 5-star international brands or private pool villas (INR 15,000 – INR 35,000+ per night).
  • Dining: Fine dining in colonial mansions and private beach dinners (INR 5,000–8,000 per event).
  • Uplifts: Private wooden junk boats in Halong Bay or sea-view luxury suites in Phu Quoc.

Internal Travel Tips-

  • Internal Flights: Each sector (e.g., Hanoi to Da Nang) costs INR 3,000 to INR 6,000 per person. Note that the cheapest fares often exclude checked baggage, so always pre-purchase 20kg to avoid airport fees.
  • Trains: The Reunification Express is a scenic but slow mode of transport in Vietnam. A soft-sleeper berth from Hanoi to Da Nang costs about INR 2,000 but takes 16 hours.
  • Sleeper Buses: A very budget-friendly option (INR 700–900) for covering short distances like Da Nang to Hue. However, it is generally less comfortable for a honeymoon trip.

How To Reach Vietnam

Reaching Vietnam from India has become significantly easier with the expansion of direct flight networks in 2026.

Direct Flights (Fastest Routes):

Direct flights are the most efficient way to begin your honeymoon, with travel times ranging between 4 and 7 hours. Non-stop services are primarily available from major Indian hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata, landing in either Hanoi (North) or Ho Chi Minh City (South). Major carriers include VietJet Air, Vietnam Airlines, IndiGo, and recently Akasa Air, which launched direct Mumbai-to-Hanoi flights. Prices for these direct sectors typically range from INR 9,000 to INR 18,000 per person for a one-way trip, depending on how early you book and the season of travel.

Indirect Flights (Connecting Routes):

If you are flying from cities like Hyderabad, Jaipur, or Chennai, direct flights are less frequent. You are likely to take an indirect route with a layover in Southeast Asian hubs such as Bangkok, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur. These flights are operated by airlines like AirAsia, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Scoot, with total travel times extending to 8–12 hours depending on the connection. While indirect flights can sometimes be slightly cheaper, they are also the most common way to reach coastal destinations like Da Nang or Nha Trang without having to transit through Vietnam's larger inland cities first.

Honeymoon Tip-

The "Open-Jaw" Ticket: For a honeymoon, book an open-jaw ticket (e.g., Fly from India to Hanoi, and return from Ho Chi Minh City to India). This saves you from having to fly back to your starting city, saving roughly INR 4,000 and an entire day of travel.

Vietnam Visa Requirements For Indian Honeymooners

Indian passport holders require a valid E-visa to enter Vietnam.

  • E-Visa: Apply on the official government online portal (evisa.gov.vn). It costs USD 25 (~INR 2,320) for a single-entry visa. The processing time is typically 3-5 working days.
  • Visa on Arrival (VOA): Requires a pre-approved letter from a travel agency and a stamping fee at the airport. This is generally only used if you are in a rush and need an "expedited" letter, though the E-Visa is now the standard and most reliable method.
  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date and have at least two blank pages. Always carry a physical printout of your E-Visa to present at immigration.
  • Visa Validity: The E-visa remains valid for 90 days.

Vietnam Honeymoon Packages From Major Indian Cities

  • Mumbai & Delhi: Direct flights to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City from Mumbai/Delhi take approximately 4.5 to 5.5 hours. Major carriers include VietJet Air, IndiGo, and Air India. Akasa Air recently launched 4x weekly direct flights from Mumbai to Hanoi.
  • Bangalore & Hyderabad: Most routes are connecting, involving a single stop in Southeast Asian hubs like Bangkok, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur. Total travel time typically ranges from 8 to 11 hours, and Thai AirAsia, Singapore Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines are popular carriers. Vietjet Air offers direct flights from Bangalore to Vietnam, while Vietnam Airlines offers direct service from Hyderabad to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Kolkata: IndiGo operates frequent direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City, with a flight duration of approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes, making it the shortest route from India. Alternatively, one-stop journeys via Bangkok are often the shortest and most affordable for eastern India, with total travel as low as 7 hours.

This is my 4th international trip with Thrillophilia and Vietnam was the best one yet. The team's ability to handle things when something goes unexpectedly is what keeps me coming back. Ha Long Bay overnight cruise, Hoi An at night with the lanterns, Hanoi Old Quarter on foot — the itinerary moved at exactly the right pace. Thank you to the whole team.

We booked a Vietnam trip with Thrillophilia for our anniversary and honestly it turned out much better than we expected. We covered Hanoi, Halong Bay, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City and the itinerary was balanced not too hectic, not too slow. Hanoi was a great start. The streets had so much energy, and trying local food there was one of the best parts of the trip. Halong Bay was the highlight for us. Staying overnight on the cruise was such a different experience waking up surrounded by those limestone islands was surreal. Da Nang was more relaxed, and Ba Na Hills was actually fun despite the tourist crowd. The Golden Bridge looks even bette... Read More

Five of us from Jaipur went to Vietnam through Thrillophilia 8 days covering Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Hoi An. Very well planned and value for money. Hanoi Old Quarter walk on the first evening motorbikes everywhere, street food at every corner, egg coffee on a rooftop watching the chaos below. Ha Long Bay overnight we woke up at 5am to see the limestone islands emerging from the mist. Nobody else was awake. 20 minutes of complete silence except the water. Hoi An lanterns at night along the Bon river one of the most beautiful evenings any of us has spent on a holiday. The hotels were well chosen at each location. Team was responsive whenever... Amazing Vietnam Trip. Six of us school friends from Bangalore reconnected after 15 years over a Vietnam trip planned through Thrillophilia. What a way to reunite. Thrillophilia put together an itinerary that moved at the right pace, not too rushed, not too slow. Hotels were good and local guides were very knowledgeable. The team was always reachable.
