Know Before You Go for Van Gogh Museum Tickets
- Every last Friday of the month, the museum presents Vincent on Friday. During this evening performances and activities take place in the museum. Possibly there is music playing in the entrance hall. If you are looking for a quiet visit, these evenings are not so suitable. There is no Vincent on Friday in June, July and August.
- The museum welcomes guide dogs fitted with a suitable harness. There is no need to register to guide dogs prior to your visit. Dogs can be walked on Museumplein, which is located next to the museum.
- Large bags, backpacks, and umbrellas must be stored in the cloakroom before entering the galleries. The museum provides this service free of charge.
- Photography (without a flash or tripod) is only permitted at certain designated areas in the museum, such as in the Entrance Hall and at the ‘selfie walls’.
- Photography of artworks in the museum galleries and exhibition spaces is not permitted.
- A first aid room is available at the service desk in the entrance hall of the museum in case of emergency.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the museum building.
- Do not cross security barriers or touch artworks that are behind protective barriers.
- Follow instructions given by museum staff for your safety and the preservation of the artworks.
- Eating and drinking are not permitted inside the exhibition halls. Enjoy snacks and refreshments at the museum café or designated areas outside the galleries.
- While children are welcome in the museum, keep in mind that some areas may not be suitable for young children or may require supervision.
