Post-breakfast, you will be walking through the crowded squares, meandering streets and broad avenues of the city absorbing its medieval history and culture. After a well-deserved lunch break back at the hotel, you will be taken on a guided tour of Madrid’s most regal museums, the Reina Sofia and the Prado, which showcase the works of artists such as Picasso, Goya, Rubens and so on. Make space for the gastronomy you are about experience at Mercado de San Miguel, a local market - from tapas to caviar to oysters to churros to chocolate!

Cruces de Mayo festival, Royal Mezquita, Old and Jewish Quarters
Your first road trip in Spain would be to Cordoba after breakfast at the hotel. On reaching this beautiful town, you will be shown the Royal Mezquita, a mosque converted to a cathedral with typical Islamic style architecture. Since you’re travelling in May, you’re in luck as you can witness the chaotic annual flower festival, Cruces de Mayo, during this time. Rest of the day can be spent at leisure exploring the Old and Jewish Quarters.

Tapas Tour with Expert
Craving tapas? You’re just in time for it! You will be starting early from Cordoba towards Seville, famously known as the tapas capital of Spain. In the evening, with a local expert, you will set out on a tapas tasting adventure that is sure is impress!

Alhambra Tour, Flamenco Performance
After a short drive to Alhambra in the city of Granada, you will be provided lunch in the hotel. Abundantly rested, you will begin a romantic journey to the decorated Moorish palace and fortress surrounded by lush greens and running waters. You can opt for an audio tour if you wish. Also, you will get a chance to discover other palatial residences like the Palacio de Generalife, Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Carlos V Palace. Before returning to your hotel, a flamenco troupe will make you groove to their beats!

Visit to Local’s House, Tapas Dinner
Say buenos dias (good morning), Barcelona! You are free to explore the city until the evening, after which, to give you an essence of the Catalans’ lifestyle, you will be taken to a local’s house for an interactive dinner session. Yes, more tapas, and you can eat as much as you like! Please note that this tour has vegetarian options if requested.

Gaudi-themed Guided Cycle Tour, Sagrada Familia
The best way to see this great, big city is on a cycle (bike). You will pay a visit to Antoni Gaudi’s distinctive works and specially, his incomplete masterpiece - the Sagrada Familia, a Roman Catholic Church. Gaudi’s sense of style and architecture was unique. You will be stopping for a lavish lunch at Mercado de La Bouqueria, another popular fresh-food market. Rest of the day at leisure.

Begur Sightseeing
The unfrequented town of Begur is a gem in the midst of nowhere. Uncrowded beaches with endless coastlines, exquisite neoclassical mansions (believed to have housed pirates!) built by the Cubans and fancy restaurants on the sea with spectacular views, not to forget their fresh seafood. You will enjoy a quiet and relaxing dinner on this day.

On this last day of this backpacking tour to Spain Though highly recommended, you may choose not to do the Spanish Civil War tour, in which case you can spend the day indulging on your own. For those interested, a guide will take you down memory lane explaining to you the history of politics, women in power, war in Spain and the Holocaust.
