Know Before You Go for Van Gogh Museum Tickets

Every last Friday of the month, the museum presents Vincent on Friday. During this evening performances and activities take place in the museum. Possibly there is music playing in the entrance hall. If you are looking for a quiet visit, these evenings are not so suitable. There is no Vincent on Friday in June, July and August.
The museum welcomes guide dogs fitted with a suitable harness. There is no need to register to guide dogs prior to your visit. Dogs can be walked on Museumplein, which is located next to the museum.
Small items like coats and umbrella can be stored in the museum’s self-service cloakroom.
Photography (without a flash or tripod) is only permitted at certain designated areas in the museum, such as in the Entrance Hall and at the ‘selfie walls’.
Photography of artworks in the museum galleries and exhibition spaces is not permitted.
A first aid room is available at the service desk in the entrance hall of the museum in case of emergency.

An Unforgettable Visit to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam As avid fans of Vincent van Gogh, we knew we absolutely had to visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Despite the challenges of securing tickets and making the journey, we were determined to immerse ourselves in the world of our favorite artist. Upon entering the museum, we were confused by the organization of the exhibits. The first floor was dedicated to six years of Van Gogh's work, encompassing various moods and styles. The second floor, however, surprisingly featured drawings by his doctor and paintings by his friends, such as the talented Paul Gauguin. While these were interesting in their own right, we would have preferred a clearer narrative for Van Gogh's own work. The famous Sunflowers and The Bedroom were located on the lower level, while the tragic story of Van Gogh's death and the beautiful Almond Blossoms were displayed on the top floor. Despite the somewhat disorganized layout, the museum itself was incredible, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. After our museum visit, we purchased sunflowers to carry a piece of Van Gogh's spirit with us at a flower market in Amsterdam. This small gesture allowed us to bring some of the artist's essence into our own lives, making our trip even more memorable.
