The Kuari Pass and Lord Curzon Trail rests in the gorgeous Garhwal region of the Himalayas. Revealed during the British Rule in India during 1905 by Lord Curzon, this outstanding destination is named after him and offers a spectacular trekking trail amid panoramic vistas.
The Kuari Pass trekking expedition commences from the divine city of Haridwar and is the gateway to diverse hiking trails. One can perceive the wonderful peaks of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, Trishul, Hathi Ghodi Parvat and Neelkanth, alongside other compelling highpoints. While on the trail, behold the Kaliganga, Birehiganga and Dhauliganga rivulets that flow alongside.

4-5 Hours Drive, Your trip starts here
Today marks the beginning of your amazing trekking expedition to Kuari Pass! Arrive in Haridwar and head out on the first leg of your expedition. Start driving from Haridwar to Joshimath while you pass by the confluence point of Devprayag, which marks the gathering of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers that forms the Ganges. This drive takes around 4 – 5 Hours to cover adistance of 260km. Reach the hub of Joshimath, which is crawling with pilgrims on the path to Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib. Check in to your reserved lodge for an overnight stay.
30 mins Drive, 2-3 Hours Trek, Steep Climb, Ramni
Take a short drive to Selubagar from Haridwar and begin your trek from Selubagar, which is the meeting place of the porters and ponies that will escort you on the expedition. Getting started on a challenging route, commence your hike through the marked trail that alternates with ridges and offers a view of the Ramni and Ghuni settlements. Stride through the animated hamlets and ascend a steep climb before keying an open plateau to arrive in Ghuni. Witness the indigenous inhabitants and their charming lives before you set up tents here for an overnight stay.
6- 7 Hours Trek, Steep Climb, Vinayak Temple
Rise early today and relish your essential breakfast to initiate an early trek towards Jhingi. The backdrops of the Nanda Gunti and Chaukhamba Ranges will leave you captivated!
After a transitory pause, resume on the trail that leads to the Vinayak Pass. The small temple with its prayer flags will allow you to experience the equanimity of nature. Carry forward on a sharp trek to arrive in the village of Jhingi. You can setup your camps here while you enjoy a well-deserved dinner before retiring for the night.
6-7 Hours Trek, Gradual Climb, Birahi Ganga Village, Kaliagad Settlements
This morning, after breakfast, descend from the village to the valley bases and cross a bridge that dangles over the Birahi Ganga. Pass through this region towards the valley on a curvy path to a ridge that will enthral you with the sights of the Himalayan peaks. Make your way through Rhododendron growths to arrive in the village of Pana, which holds the settlements of Kaliagad. After another stunted descend, you will arrive at your campsite. Enjoy a healthy dinner and pitch camps here for an overnight stay.
5-6 Hours Trek, Sartoli Meadow
The morning of the day brings you to a trails that will lead to a ridge. The gradual trek from hereon, shall bring you to the delicate meadows of Sartoli which is a cattle browsing settlement. Witness the Kuari Pass while descending for a while where you encounter a pristine stream alongside glacial remains. After crossing these regions, ascend to the pinnacle of the ridge to arrive in Dakwani, which will be your campsite for the night.
5-6 Hours Trek, Dronagiri Peak, Prayer Flags, Gradual Descend
Rise early today morning to get started on this exciting day of trekking that will take you to the gorgeous Kuari Pass. Trek towards the pass and view the mesmerizing view of the daybreak, that will leave you hypnotized. Ascend through trails of gravel before you reach a ridge that is bedecked with prayer flags at a shrine. Enjoy the almighty view at the Kuari Pass before you descend down to progress on a gradual hike to the basecamp at Khulara. Pitch your tents here for an overnight stay.
5-6 Hour Trek, 1 Hour Drive, Gorson Meadow, Nanda Devi, Final Day of Trekking
This day marks the last leg of the expedition as you make your way towards Auli. Walk a beautiful path that is enriched with the views of Nanda Devi and other peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas. Arrive at the beautiful Gorson meadows and then to Auli, from where, you will be driven by a jeep to Joshimath. Retire for the night in a lodge to get a well-deserved sleep after the gruelling day of trekking.

Wake up early today morning and savour a wonderful breakfast. Pack your possessions and prepare to be driven back to the city of Haridwar. Upon your arrival here, your absorbing trek to Kuari Pass and Lord Curzon Trail will come to an end.
