Declared the 7th cleanest city and one of the fastest growing urban conglomerations, Jamshedpur or Tatanagar is the jewel of Jharkhand. Situated in the Chota Nagar Plateau, the 150 sq km of area it is spread across has beauty beyond all the industrialisation.
Jamshedpur is visited by a number of people. Most popular tourist spots include the lush green Jubilee Park, Sir Dorabji Tata Park, the huge Dimna Lake, and also the Dalma hill range, situated only 13 km from the city. The Upvan of Jubilee Park is often touted as an ideal picnic spot for those wishing to spend some time with family, while the Tata Steel Zoological Park is a favourite with the children. For those looking for spirituality, there are a number of temples such as the Bhuvaneshwari Temple, Gol Pahari Mandir and Rankini Mandir, all of which are easily accessible from the city.
The city is very well-planned and even has a small but sufficient airport, Sonari, which is mainly used for bringing in members of the TATA group. Jamshedpur serves as a nodal point for further destinations as well and is easy to reach by train or by the state and national highways connecting it to all the big cities like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai.
Tatanagar is an embodiment of Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata‘s vision of a flourishing city. Tatanagar, therefore, with its aesthetic attractions and educational benefits, is a wonderful spot to visit with family, or even for a weekend away from the rush.
