One of the best known “hidden beaches” of Bali, Dreamland Beach is located on the edge of the Bukit Peninsula in Indonesia. Despite rigorous urban development on its limestone landscape, Dreamland Beach still retains much of its rugged, primordial charm.

Dreamland Beach became highly accessible to the public following the development of the Pecatu Graha and the Pecatu Indah Raya Resorts project, which, at the turn of the millennium, transformed about 400 hectares of virgin terrain into what is now known as ‘New Kuta’. Initially, the beach had no entrance fee to it, and was crowded by locals as well as tourists.

To manage crowd, visitors are now subjected to an entrance fee of 10,000 Indonesian Rupiah for locals, and 15,000 Indonesian Rupiah for tourists. The beach is a treat for surfers, especially experienced ones. One can enjoy some of Bali’s best shore breaks near the Dreamland shore, or paddle out to the nearby world-class reef breaks at Balangan.

The beach is also a perfect spot to enjoy sunbathing, or simply lounge on picnic mats while enjoying the natural setting around the beach. Decks and Parasols can be rented from the beach at cheap rates for this very purpose. The beach is a part of the Dreamland area, an elite resort area with a number of different facilities for its guests to enjoy.

The Beach premises is scattered with a number of resorts and hotels, as well as world class eateries, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Although most of the local warung food stalls that once existed are now gone, one can still find a number of food peddlers on the beach selling soft drinks or snacks. The 100 meter long stretch of white sand, overlooking the rolling blue of the Indian Ocean, commands a magnificent view of the serene horizon, and is a perfect spot to enjoy the scenic sunsets of Bali.
