Wildlife Luxury Cottage Overview

Featuring a terrace, this forest retreat offers luxury accommodation in Binsar with views of the Himalayas and the Kumaoni hills. This Forest Retreat is an Eco-friendly stay situated at an altitude of 7,600 ft on the south-west flank of Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. In this retreat, the cottage has luxury stay variants named Trishul, Chestnut, Nandaghunti, Swiss Cottage, Binsar village stay. 

The Retreat has a wide variety of indoor / board games. Outdoor activities like Badminton, Table tennis etc. Binsar Zero Point is the highest vantage point of the Binsar Wildlife, from where one can savour a 360-degree view of the Himalayan beauties namely Kedarnath, Shivling, Trishul and the group of Nanda Devi peaks. One of the Retreat staff accompanies guests as trail guides on the walks. All these walks start and end at the Retreat and do not require vehicles for pick-up/drop-off.

How to reach the place:
This is located inside the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, about 8 km into the Sanctuary. 
Pantnagar Airport is located almost 152 km from the retreat and Kathgodam Railway Station is 119 km from the retreat.
Private cabs and public transport are available from the location.

  • Trishul room- These rooms have wooden-floor, wood-panelled walls, a covered deck and a large veranda overlooking the forest and the Himalayan peaks. The rooms are adjacent to each other and share a veranda.

  • Chestnut room- It is located on the ground floor This is a large room, with wooden-floor, mud walls on two sides and windows/glass doors on two sides. It has an open veranda in front.

  • Nanda Ghunti rooms - The rooms are located on the middle floor. The rooms are cosy, with wooden-floor, wood panelling, stone walls, windows on two sides and a balcony that merges into the forest.

  • Rhododendron rooms - A fully-refurbished Kumaoni style cottage – stone floor, mud walls, bamboo mat ceiling – these are our most traditional rooms. The rooms are adjacent to each other and share a large veranda, with magnificent views of the sunset and the rolling hills to the south.

  • Swiss cottage tents- fitted underneath. Each of the tents has an attached tiled bathroom and 2.5 feet high walls along the sides of the room. They come with windows, 2 in the bathroom and 4 in the room that can be closed from inside. The floor is wooden, and each tent has its own private covered veranda. Every tent is in a different part of our property with plenty of private space.

  • Binsar village stay (Walnut cottage)- It is a stone and wood construction with a traditional style roof – made of what is locally called Pataal (long, thin and rough stone tiles). It has a wooden veranda and deck in front.

  • To reach the property in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary a Check post is to be crossed, guest needs to arrive at the check-post of the forest at least an hour before sunset as the forest check-post remains closed from sunset (about 7.00 PM during summer, 5.00 PM during winter) to sunrise

  • Smoking is prohibited in the dining room. In common areas, smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking area.

  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
